Not long ago was really nice and very popular - how times change! Has been allowed to steadily become a place to avoid.

very friendly staff, great food now, shame more local people cant support them. If we dont use them we loose them. The brewery should take the flack not the staff, I have always found them to be friendly and more then helpful.

All I can say is if you are an ale drinker give it a miss not enough custom to turn the beer around I used to drink between both henstridge pubs but no give the ash a miss.

This *used* to be one of the finest pubs/eating houses in South Somerset - Completely full at the weekend with happy people noshing away on mid-range traditional pub fare.
No longer.
It's a sad ghost of itself. Exterior is weedy, the hanging baskets are empty, needs work done indoors & out. Food is lamentable, the staff apathetic* and the whole place needs a good clean, in & out. It's so sad to see how it's declined.
*example: decided to try this pub for an evening drink with a friend. She asked for a pineapple juice. Cue half-assed looking. None available. She then asked for an orange juice. Cue more half-assed looking. None available! This was 8pm on a Saturday night.
There were about 7 customers - those banned from the other pub in Henstridge & those "youthful" looking types!
