Orange Tree, Nottinghamback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Don't know why people rave about this place so much. Sure, it's ok, but you could do a lot better.
The cocktails are good, but quite expensive and take a long time to make, meaning that you can expect to queue FOREVER at the bar when it's busy Ale is good quality, but not a big selection, and there is a decent range of bottled/draught beers, lagers and ciders, plus wines, all of which are, however, pretty overpriced. Same goes for the food, really: quite good, but definitely overpriced and not served late enough.
Gets VERY busy at weekends and given the amount of space-hogging leather couches you need to get in early to find somewhere to sit. Also a predominantly too-cool-for-school trendy student crowd. Nice beer garden, however, and the staff are generally friendly.
Go for a couple in the afternoon, maybe cocktail happy hour, and avoid later on in the evening.

An excellent pub. Good beers and pleasant surroundings and a nice outside area. Plenty of students but seem to be the more sensible type. Certainly a better place than the nearby Newcastle which seems to lost it recently only partly due to the smoking ban.

nice place, whenever I'm back I always head for here.

if i had my own pub i'd want it to be like the ornage tree! great place and great food.

Went in last night (thursday), it's a bit loud, and pretty crowded, but OK. A lot of trendy looking students (I think) in there later on.
The Batemans XB was 2.40 a pint, and tasted good. There was a guest beer as well. Staff were freindly, atmospere was relaxed. We stood, but there were a few tables and easy chairs.
Decent pub, the beer was OK, I'd go again, maybe towards the end of the evening when I don't mind the loud music so much! (getting old....)

Upmarket older studey/post grad place, which lets the older punter sit around its big wooden tables-nice chill out music & cocktail range-well worth a look.
|
Chilled place, good cocktails, good food, good music.

cool pub, a bit pricey but woth it

Really nice place. not too loud but with the pleasing buzz of conversation. The decor is nice arty without being pretentious plus most of the work is on sale.
went for a quick drink, ended up staying for ages. The cocktails are superb!

The student quiz a bastion of Sunday night entertainment here (apparently) has, after two glorious years, ended. I'm sorry. My girlfriend and I were at the last one. It was well done, if you like that kind of thing. If you're here for the beer well, we felt a compulsion to drink up and out to somewhere better.

didn't go in for 6 months after it opened, but glad i did eventually, i can't keep out of the place. the foods amazing, the cocktails are even better. i agree with the guy below the staff are super friendly. it does live music on thursdays. in conclusion you can go to this pub for a nice relaxing drink and a something to eat in the day and then have a party in the evening. ah well who needs a degree anyway!!

I went here for a birthday do and wasn't expecting to like it but did. It's gone upmarket with posh couches and contemporary art on the walls. The place is quite big and seems a bit too big to be cosy with all those couches, but big enough to have seperate areas to hide away in. This makes it feel fairly empty but I probably wouldn't like it if it was packed out.
There were two real ales alongside the usual plus a couple of continental beers. Also cheap cocktails at various times during the week. The food's supposed to be very good but I didn't try it.
I returned recently on a Saturday night and there was no problem finding somewhere to sit and the music wasn't too loud.
