Overall not bad. Good cocktails but management and staff need to de-stress as they were not all that helpful.

In theory, it looked like fun. However, rude doormen (INCREDIBLY rude and not very intelligent) and terrible prices make this place an unpleasant evening.

What makes it worse is that over the course of the evening, I had lost my purse. Was grateful that it never left the club and was picked up by the staff, but the staff (not the waitress who found it, she was incredibly helpful) helped themselves to my camera, ipod, and cash. When I asked the management about this, they chose to ignore my complaints.

What kind of a place is this?

I spent my 31st birthday here and was looked after so well! We booked an area and were looked after by a lovely waitress... This place has everythiing, Great music, friendly staff, excellent atmosphere and wicked art work! Can't really say anythng bad about this place... Will be returning again and again!

You won't find a non-indie, non-flouncy arty type person anywhere inside but it is worth visiting for the great garden type area out the back alone. The main room also got uncomfortably rammed on the night I was there!

With Cantaloupe, this place provides an interesting sociological case study of what happens when the alternative is transforming itself into the mainstream. A brilliant location underneath the arches on Rivington Street is efficiently exploited by excellent bar staff (although please check the bouncers), good drinks and superb Latino-themed food. It's nevertheless quite shiny and wouldn't be out of place in a more boring area like Soho or even Notting Hill.

Not such a bad place, but the attitude of the doormen is utterly appalling. Aggressive, rude, and very physical. I nearly called the police for having my friend thrown out for no reason at all. Mistaken identity apparently. They behaved like bullies picking on a kid. I will never go here again, nor will my friends. And having played there, my band will never play there again. Luckily my drummer also works for Time Out magazine, so the damage has already been done.

Excellent venue and location, right in the middle of all the other decent places to go. Dont expect a great range of beers though - they only have Amstel on tap, and decent bottles are limited to Old Speckled Hen and Budvar, which are both 3.95. Great outdoor space as well

Not sure if railway arches work that well on the venue front? If it's empty, or even half empty, it's hard to get going in there, but at full capacity it's great. Good quality drinks, and an excellent music schedule, just not sure about the location??

Good atmosphere at night, good music and not pretentious at all, just a lot of people just up for a laugh.

Some rather misinformed comments... Like since when did they charge 15% service?! Personally, I think this place has always delivered- the food has always been great and not in the least overpriced & I've always been happy to pay the optional 12.5% service... On top of that the staff are really friendly and the music top notch!

been here several times for lunch and it is overpriced, service is 15% (errr what service?) but I imagine it gets much much better at night, so just a warning.

And what's with the weird things hanging from the ceiling?

this is another dark atmosphere-less super-expensive 'trendy' bar in bloody shoreditch. if you like 'pub' pubs you'll hate this.

Cargo is fast making a name for itself in ultra-trendy Hoxton. Set against an urban dcor of stripped-down natural materials and bare bricks, the up-for-it crowd have turned out in force for superstar DJs and hip bands. Theres also a mini-diner serving tasty, ethnic-influenced "street foods" at huge, friendly tables in the padded lounge. The 1 oclock finish makes it the ideal pre-club venue if you can tear yourself away.
