please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Situated opposite the Beeston tram and bus terminus, this is a multi-roomed pub with a good selection of ales and ciders. Totally Brewed Stargazer is the regular beer. Guests were Ringwood Razor Back, Dancing Duck Back Sack and Quack, Magpie Cherry Raven, Castle Rock Elsie Mo, Welbeck Abbey Red Feathers, Burton Bridge Golden Delicious, Whim Flower Power & Theakston XB. Ciders were Lilley's Mango, Thatcher's Stan's Big Apple & Cheddar Valley & Blue Barrels Smokin' Barrels. Pizzas looked very nice and the interior is very tidy, with a number of different drinking areas to suit tastes. Another good Beeston pub.

A traditional local that manages to make ever such a slight nod to hipsterdom by laying on a great range of local real ales, primarily of the light and hoppy variety - so Castle Rock are represented as well as various Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire breweries. Another noteworthy element is the presence of bread and dripping on the menu - a good half century after anyone has eaten it. I was tempted but opted for a burger which was bog standard but tasty.

Used to frequent this pub in the late 80's when it appeared in an episode of Auf Wiedersehen (if you watch carefully you can see the etched glass Star Inn windows) and sold Shippos. Now serves real ales and has been renovated whilst retaining the old pub layout. On a par with The Vic and The Crown. To those responsible - Top Marks!

Another relaunch and this time it has really hit the mark.

The owner of the national pub of the year finalist, the Horse and Groom, has brought innovation and high quality to the Star.

The selection of ales is fantastic, with something for everyone. Great garden out back and several interesting seating areas inside, including lots of books to read if you pop in for a couple on your own.

If you wanna go to a pub where everyone will eventually know your name and bring a smile to your face after a hard days graft. Then this is the place to be. Since the new owners have started to take over the pub they have started to breathe a breath of fresh air into this pub. After the recent culling of pubs since the smoking ban this gem of a pub gives all it's customers a warm welcome and a healthy selection of tasty beverages. They've not quite reached the relaunch date in November. Never the less it still has a great buzz about it. The guys in charge of the alcohol have years of experience between them and knows their trade. Pool Darts fruit/quiz machines, Dominoes, Live music and HD TV are just some of the entertainment they offer. It's a real home from home just with all the good bits and none of the gristle. I would recommended dropping by and checking it out and just see how great this real pub atmosphere is, you won't be disappointed. ENJOY!

the myriad of little rooms give it a unique atmosphere and character. Can't fault it.

It would be intesresting to know how old this pub actually is.Probably Dennis and Ethel know. But I suspect its C18th rather than C19th.
