Went to this pub and found ok, Service was efficient, choice of beers a bit limited and bit pricey. Terrace very clean and decoarated with a lot of hanging baskets. I would say the landl;ord has put alot of effort into the place. shame about the car park blocking the river view partially. Can't say I saw any "Pikies" and is a hell of a lot cleaner than the vast majority of pubs I have been to.maybe all the "medway pikies" have returned to medway lol.

Constantly ignored when it was busy, then had the obvious pointed out to me that it was busy! Busy? Really? Oh yes, I hadn't noticed...!!! Please do not use that as an excuse - the customers can see it's busy! But 25 minutes to be served? You don't wait that long in the West End on a Friday night! Heard good things about this place, but all I experienced was ignorance and rudeness, or maybe it was just bad luck? Well, first impressions last, so will not be frequenting again.

Food is ok here, pykies have gone to a certain extent. Nice for a quiet pint in the summer outside, can get lively when football is on.

Never seen any drug dealing here and think people are making it up.

This has been my local for the past 12 years. It is a lovely family pub with a great atmosphere and a warm & friendly service from all the staff. The beer is great and the food is excellent. Whenever I pop in there is always somebody you know to have a chat and a laugh with. Also great in the summer, as the decking and garden area are great and over look the river. I would recommend the pub to all new comers.

I have used this pub since 1986 and have seen many changes. It has always been a freindly pub and has a great community spirit. Food has changed over the years sometimes good sometimes bad. Kims restuarant is top notch the food is excellent and alway freshly cooked ( more seafood please). try the specials (superb) Beer is always great and there is always someone to talk to.Can get really busy and smokey. But i love it

Restaurant has gone downhill, beer tastes like urine and is at London prices, 3.20 for a pint is absolutely ludicrous!!! Plus you still got the odd pikey floating around in there looking for bother. Have never seen a pub go on the decline so much over the past year or so. And all this seems to have happened since the new landlord has taken over, says a lot for him I must say!! There are much better pubs in the area ie Sir John Franklin, The Wharf etc so would advise to look elsewhere until the landlord gets his act together and recognises what great potential this pub has.

Nice little pub for me and my Lady. Nice class of client for business networking and there's always some stimulating lines around, if you know what I mean

I have watched both Euro 2004 Engalnd games at the Pier and I must say what an experience i had. I could see the game from all angles (plasma TV and the 2 TVs on the other side of the bar) and the atmosphere was top notch. Just a shame that Nette came home with me on both of these triumphent nights to ruin the occasion.

Me and Splinter pop down this place on a frequent basis and i must say its not bad at all. Warm and friendly pub, they do a nice pint of carling BUT I have to say that someone should tell the Landlord that he needs a haircut...and quick!

The truth of the matter is that this is one cracking little boozer especially in the summer and that is no lie.
Dave Williams - [email protected] - 10 Jun 2004 12:43
This really is a superb little summer pub. Great atmos, cool refreshing beer and "freshen up for the ladies" so to speak. Beer garden is second to none plus looking forward to watching the Euro 2004 championships on the new plasma screen they have just installed. PLUS Netti, how can you forget this Pier hotel legend. Best barmaid around with best set of legs you will ever see.

Great bar and nice beer BUT restaurant was not all that nice untill they changed chefs. Now the food is fantastic and has the best of both worlds. The NEW pizzas they are serving up down there are just simply the best. Just like being in Italy.
Alan "Cheese" Beaver - 19 May 2004 13:32
This pub is great, would not change it of the world. The people are really nice, and you do have to love the football team, nomatter what they get up to, and the staff are stunning.10/10

Nice little pub especially in the summer due to the beautiful beer garden outback overlooking the Thames. Bar staff are also very friendly. The only dissapointment for me and my Graham is that sometimes can be too noisy when the footballs on the TV, but i suppose you get that anywhere these days.
Tracy Parker - 20 Apr 2004 13:11
