Arrived the end of Day 1 of a charity cycle ride from Reading to Great Yarmouth. Nice pint of Adnams - Bitter and friendly landlord. Agree this is more a locals pub but all visitors welcome.

Small town pub with bar and dining area where the emphasis seems to be more on the bar. More of a locals pub than others in the town. The Adnams wasn't at it's best though.

Lively pub in what looked like a really nice village. Unfortunately we only stumbled across this place after dark. Adnams Bitter, Adnams Old Ale and TT Landlord were served. The locals were singing away quite happily to Boy George classics in the bar. So we left them to it and enjoyed a pleasant drink in the dining area. Thaxted looks like it may be a nice place to village during daylight hours. So there's a good chance we'll find ourselves back in this pub one day.

Seemed pretty friendly with a good choice of Anams beer, although my pint of Old Ale was served too cold.Weren't doing tea because the kitchen was closed ????????? Clearly tea making now requires a chef.

Friendly pub, good food, good beer although in my opinion the real ale is served way too cold.

Best pub in Thaxted serving Adnams Broadside and 3 other ales and not too expensive and locals fairly friendly I believe they have live music twice a week.Has plenty of olde charm.

I've only visited this pub the once. I was made to feel welcome by the staff and locals alike. A thoroughly relaxing environment and excellent atmosphere.
