I have been here before with my girlfriend when the footy was on. The landlord was very friendly including the staff. We stayed until it was time to go.
Visited here recently with my Brother on a Bank Holiday. The place was busy with football supporters who were shouting and swearing at the TV. The women who served us was not polite and seemed that she wanted to be else where. The only high light of our time there was an old chap who was a Crystal Palace supporter through and through, who we chatted to until he went. We only stayed there for one pint as I could not wait to get out of there.

Fat skinheads, ear-bleeding music volumes and St George all over it are testimony to the decline of what was once a great mixed - men, women, rugby, soccer, racing, working class, middle class - pub, now run by fairground folk.

The regulars in this pub were surprisingly welcoming & we particularly enjoyed the complimentary hot bar snacks which were laid out on the Sunday when we visited. The bar staff all seem experienced and were very friendly. As a smoker, I was told that there are plans for a covered outside smoking area, which will definitely ensure my plans to revisit this pub. I even got a shamrock on my pint of Guinness!

On the weekend when its busy, can have a great laugh. Regular customers who are friendly & easy to talk to. Great alcohol with a great service from the lovely bairmaids. Ok its not that big a pub, but so what. Prices resonable for pub prices in Croydon. Hot food on Sunday afternoons, Pop down and c for yourself!

Every time I've been into this pub the experience has been the same. This deja-vu is down to its squareness of structure, form and layout. It is like drinking in a box with insufficient distractions and comforts. Apart from this architectonic comment, it is average in all other respects, which means it could be slightly below or above average depending on the drinkers there, time of day, mood etc.

we quite liked this place. Small but staff and customers were all really friendly. Stayed for a few and had a good laugh. Nice place to start before a night on the town

More atmosphere in a morgue than this place.

Large bar with central counter. Good pint of London Pride (also has Youngs pump labels but can not remember when I last saw it available). Retains a locals atmosphere with little seating and none of it comfortable
