I've been drinking at this establishment, in it's various incarnations, for over three years now so I feel it's only right that I offer a fair critique.
The service has improved considerably of late. This, however, is not much to shout about as the service used to be abysmal. Staff will gladly turn the Telly over to suit their own preference, usually MTV Base, despite linters happy to continue watching what they were. Toilet facilities: tricky if you require a dump as the locks on the cubicle doors don't work. A skillfully placed foot will soon sort this, though. Better bring your own bob hope though as there is never an supplied. now, I'm not a keen fisherman. This is a shame. If I were I'd probably own a pair of waders. These are essential wear as the khazi floor is always under water. Atmosphere; always a mixed bag of nut jobs and hobos or son flint Africans huddled around half a lager to watch Arsenal should they be playing on SKY. However, I have never seen any trouble in my three years of drinking here but that may very well be because the locals have lost the will to live whilst drinking here.
Despite all this, I will continue to drink here as it gives me something to moan about and as an Englishman, that is my right. That and the fact there's fuck all else within walking distance close by. Enjoy!

A great place to stay thirsty. I had the misfortune to visit the Furzedown on the first Sunday in June 2011. I walked there in the rain, as I had noticed that they'd refurbished and rebranded.
I stood at the bar waiting for a drink with a note in hand looking expectant, but was totally ignored. They had 3 staff on, and though they were holding a function in the room at the back, weren't really that busy. The young barman greeted a friend as he entered, and proceeded to serve him straightaway, despite my standing right next to him and obviously waiting. There are other pubs within walking distance that have far more warmth and are much better run- use them instead!

Went to this pub last week and had a great time. Had been there a couple of times about a year ago and found it a bit dry, but they have made lots of improvements since. It has a nice atmosphere now and they decorated and made changes inside. Even have artwork for sale. Good all round local. Would definitely go back.

Looks like this pub has been done up recently into a more trendy pub/bar.

No real ales and is a more faceless bar compared to some of the other places in Streatham. Not my cup of tea but can see why some other people would like it. Definitely one for the younger and trendier residents of the area but isn't full of chavs.

Great for the Sunday roast and the occasional pint. One of the better pubs in the area. (Not saying much to be honest)

Why did they paint it Orange?

The nice black and white half-timbered exterior has been spoiled by a coat of orange paint. Not sure this will attract extra business myself.

The management seem to be making an effort in providing good quality food and booking the occasional band. Still lacking in atmosphere, and not really my idea of a friendly local.

Not a bad pub, nice make over. Used to be called the Park Tavern until someone was murdered in there and it shut. Booze well priced, staff friendly, still lacking an ambiance - maybe that will come with time?
