Been in to La Tasca several times now, it's a bar as well as a restaurant and you can go in for just drinks.

Yates no longer exists - it's 'La Tasca' a well known chain tapas restaurant. I presume you can't just go in to get a drink! (not been there yet but it sure ain't a pub)

Having visited this pub a couple of weeks ago, I have nothing but praise for the place. It was a Saturday afternoon and whilst it was clearly busy (A football match was playing), the staff were still polite and well mannered at all times. The pub was clean and tidy, despite the crowds. Plus you can take children in there, and get quality food at a cheap price. I will definatly be returning.

If you must go to Yates', go in the day when it's quiet. Stay for a drink, don't eat anything then go to a real pub... Don't even think about visiting in the evening!

I've only ever been in the day for a meal, very nice

Seems this place, Hogshead and the Litter Tray (also known as the Littern Tree) are all owned by the same company with the same menu and pretty much the same beer. I'd say Hogshead was the pick of the bunch at the moment, purely because it actually has some choice on beer and the coffee is better. More young girls in Yates at the weekend though. Guess you'll have to balance that somehow. Warm up in Hogshead then pop next door for a letch? Rating unchanged.

Good night out, but thats about it...

Grills now off the 2 for 1 offer. Good job really, if I'd eaten much more steak I think my colon would have exploded. Still best meal deals in the town centre though.

Still a bugger getting served in the evening and when you do it is only the piss-poor beers served in all binge drinking establishments. Oh, stay away from the Kronenboug Blanc - that really was vile.

If I were you I'd go next door to Hogshead in the evening... although the pole dancing on Friday / Saturday night can be entertaining. Being Aylesbury they've had to reinforce the pole of course...

Afta a funny night out ?? then pop on down ere on a thursday night, yep, its Karaoke night, always worth a laugh. The Dj's tops, plays some proper tunes between singers. So, if ya after something different on a thursday than just a beer, slip yaself down ere for a night of fun, singing, laughin and dance ya pants off

Urban hellhole of a pub. Complete lack of taste in all departments. Avoid

Finally had a semi-major refit. Kind of a seventies retro feel to it, although somewhat schizophrenic. Very relaxing now with candles on tables in the evening. The pool tables upstairs are a little incongrous with this theme but that's the refit all over. Overall I'd have to say it is an improvement. Major plus is almost all food on 2 for 1 offer, including grills menu. Beer is still the usual piped rubbish but a few of the bar-maids are nice enough to make up for it. Personally I'd rather do Hogshead next door but it could make a nice change.

Only worth going into in the evening if your carrying a flamethrower. And why this even needs to be here with the Hog's Head doing EXACTLY the same thing next door is beyond me. Oh, but if your into the chav lifestyle you'll love it. You scum.

This place is a Chav hole. Nice ladies in here though! My mate was laughed at by some ladies because he looked like a monkey (hairy arms and legs and wearing shorts and a t-shirt) AND he was 45!

why do people visit this place, it has changed very little since 1998! In a market town like aylesbury, you need a bit more ...it doesnt change..its a kev hangout, full of chavs and pikeys avoid this place!

the usual wkd swilling idiots, and geezas with ben sherman worn on outside of trousers..very sad affair, the girls? well young girls sure, but no brainy conversation..its all whorish make up, gut rings in navals, tattos over shoulder, above arse, and highlighted hair-it reminds one of a bad romford, or essex moment!-but in bucks. Who on earth is that short guy who dances around with a breezer on his head? he looks about 35 -he is the oldest guy there, surrounded by teenagers-possibly because he is short he feels he can still fit in..what a freak!

young chavs and sad old chavs then.

chav-yates

Well I love this place. Some stunning ladies in here. Yes it is full of "Kev's" saddos.
Peter - 16 Aug 2004 23:15
Chav Central! More caps than a Nike store! This is another Mecca for all Kevs and their cxxp music, attitude and foul stench. A bar just like any other in any town. Heaven forbid they should open a bar with an alternative feel to it! Not a bad layout, but spoilt by the constant flurry of everything that is Kev. Joined at the hip with the Littern Tree, this bar is only worth going in during the day unless you really want an evening with bad boys and their bling bling girlfriends. You cant hear anyone and so if you do spot someone youd like to chat up unless they can lip read you dont stand a chance, and if youre not dressed like a sport shops worst nightmare then you probably wont fit in anyway. Youre better off going to the Grapes just round the corner.

Nice place to get warmed up in for the evening. Some very nice girls about during the holiday seasons (Easter, Christmas and the Summer.)

If there are two of you then there are cheap meal deals to be had (food isn't at all bad) and you can't beat the coffee for flavour or price. Standard naff beers though.

Good Food and Atmosphere
