user reviews of the Old Bull & Bush, Shepherds Bush

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Not a good pub, but I suspect the below reviews overstate things a bit. It's a Greene KIng house which one feels is aimed squarely at the local working class population, I imagine this gets busy on weekend evenings and for sports events and is pretty dead most of the rest of the time. It certainly was on the Sunday afternoon I happened by. Draught IPA and Abbot, I think, but this pub (like most of the rest on Askew Road) is not worth visiting.

This pub used to be called the travellers rest and was great under that name. now all the pub is good for is travellers, they're welcome to the shit hole

Total dive. The place is really run down and is hardly ever busy. The advert says it has the "coldest beer in town" but I'd extend that to the reception of the place too.

Heard its being totally refurbished soon, can't come too soon.

Safe on Monday-Thursday (good for midweek footie). Avoid like the plague at weekends. They sometimes have a DJ playing house on Fridays just in case the local boys aren't charged enough...

I went in here for a meal with a friend today and my opinion on this pub has sooooo plummeted back down the very nadir of the deepest depths.

The food was absolutely awful and doesn't adhere to the menu's description at all... I would've complained but it really looked like the staff couldn't give a shit! I realised when the barman slammed my pint of Guinness down on the bar, spilling half in the process that I had made a mistake going in there for lunch...
The two meals for 5.95 deal is NOT WORTH IT!! Don't be fooled.

After being ripped off for lunch, my friend and I had one game of pool which was being spectated by the pub's "hoodie" regulars. Very off-putting. The only thing I liked about this pub was my friend's company...

Otherwise, it's shit!!

Nice big screen for watching football on, but bog standard chain pub apart from that. Not helped much by the local 'boys' who like to hang out in the dark back room and abuse anyone daring to venture in. If you're not wearing a 'Nickelson' or 'Hackett' polo shirt and reebok classics, don't even think about going out back!

If you like obtrusively loud junk music piped throughout the pub and into the garden competing with eight T.V screens and consistently short measures with top ups refused then this is the pub fot you

Have been many times over past few years, is generally friendly, down2earth, great for say watching england games, not a place I'd go on a friday/saturday but for a weeknight pint it's fine, pool area also a bonus, other comment about the Guinness spot on, is usually good.

Okay have seen a couple of 'incidents' but overall I enjoy my visits to the OB+B.

"Coldest beer in town" - Window advertisement

This pub pours a fantastic pint of Guinness, is great for watching football and four pool tables. One of the best pubs in the Bush!
