Visited the Pub in August 2007 with my wife and three kids. Have been to Windsor a few times and must say this is one of the better pubs.
We sat in the massive decked out area in the back, which looks rather pleasant, nicely finished.
Food was of a high standard, and I’m a fussy eater! Courteous staff that were well mannered and looked after us.
As for the prices, not bad at all for Windsor – especially for the size of portions and quality of food.
Well worth a visit.

Sadly I have to agree with all of the previous comments. The staff only appear to be interested in getting through their shift with as little effort as possible, rather than giving half a decent service. Walk on by, there are better pubs within a stones throw.

Me and my boyfriend went in here on Saturday afternoon for some lunch. When our food arrived my boyfriends burger was bloody in the middle. We complained and the waitress said she would get another one for him.5mins later a waiter came to us and said the chef couldnt cook it properly as burgers cant fully cook!! my boyfriend said to leave it,once id finished my food as iwas already halfway thru my hard jacket potato we asked for the bill, iexplained to the waiter that our lunch was ruined and i ended up eating on my own,and ithought my boyfriend shud at least be offered his drink on the house,(a coke i might add!!!)with that the waiter(who was french and seemed confused frm what i was saying)got a manager(supposedly) He was very rude to us my partner said we will never eat there again,on that his reply good, dont, i dont care!!! (customer service at its best)he walked off leaving the french waiter with us who then started saying"if you order something that cant be cooked properly you cant expect not to eat it!".We cud not believe this remark as we have never eaten a hamburger with blood dripping out of it!! Eventually the "manager" returned saying he spoke to the "manager" and we could just leave the bill!!! That food was awful the staff are rude, and have no customer service skills at all, shame as the pub is in a nice location they just need to be more fussy on who they hire to work there!!!!!

Avoid like the plague. Unfriendly bar service. Told coffee machine wasn't working and they looked at me as if I had a disease when I asked if they could make one using a kettle. Cleary not interested in service. Charged £3-50 for a pint and £3-50 for a small bottle of beer. Rip off! It this were a ploy to keep the place select and free from erks then I might understand but we finally left due to the group of middle aged men f-ing and blinding at a large volume. If you cant find a better alternative then I suggest you go home.

Went in here on Saturday - waste of time. Polish girl behind bar said she was not serving drinksas she was awaitress. All other staff were downstairs in the Celler sorting out a problem, I waited for a bit then gave up. If the beer is as bad as their customer relations,AVOID and go elsewhere.

nice wine selection great food cosy for a quiet drink

Good outside space, although is very much a "pretty people" hangout. Nice food but a tad pricey. Would be nice for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

A kind of half-in, half-out gastro pub with conversion that's a bit too clinical for my taste and devoid of atmosphere as a consequence. A decent Brakspears, but in Windsor that's nothing to get excited about is it?

Is this a pub or a restaurant ? Make up you mind landlord and whilst you're at it look at lowering your prices ! (In a small whisper)good ales though.

Seems to be more of a restaurant than a bar. Good service and three real ales available. Was a pleasant place for a round before dinner, would probably not settle in for the whole evening unless I was eating there.

I have been here a few times and found it to be a marvelouse place for food. The atmosphere is a litle on the quiet side, though I have only been early in the evening.

Bigbird is right, the George is not a place for a big drinking night - but the food is fabulous, the best I have ever had in a pub in all my years. Round off the evening across the road at the New College with some Badger ale and then a stagger back to the B&B across the adjacent bridge which crossed the Thames.

Good looking pub but the prices are extortionate, not all that drunk frindly either - I recommend walking up the high street to the New College or Henry VI.
