Er no...Chicago Rock definitely changed into Ocean and Collins. The Firehouse used to be Strikers and the Parkside Tavern before that.

To the reviewer below, Oceans and Collins is down the road, about 150 yrds from the Firehouse(formerly Chicago Rock)and if you like trendies and chavs, youd be well suited there.

If on the other hand you like good rock music, reasonable drinks and good looking, friendly staff, you'll like the Firehouse.

2 pool tables, a very good jukebox and a nice riser area for bands to play, and a regular supply of live music (pretty much every weekend IIRC)

Since the Nexus went downhill there's not been any kind of rock bar in Southampton (all due respect to Goblets) and Firehouse is a breath of fresh air.

Now called The Firehouse but retains a link with its Chicago Rock past in that if its rock music you want, this is the place to come. Good service when I went there but not the place to go for a quiet pint.

Its had a name change. But probably still gets the desperate men and old slappers. Avoid.

Went to Chicago on Friday. What a difference. New music, a lot better than the ols stuff they used to play and a new DJ. Got in free and only paid for 1.50 for my drinks before 10 o'clock. No more really oldies, just to top ight out. Blokes weren't bad either, no more dirty old men!

Best night out in Southampton if you're a student. Tuesday's are quality, 1.50 a drink, good variation of music and plenty of people to get to know.

We were in Chicago's Sat 20th December and about 11pm my friend was taken ill. Nicky the security lady was great. She helped us and said the symptoms Rachael was showing was that her drink had been spiked at some point. I'm just writing to tell you that after a couple of hours waiting for a taxi she started to feel better. Nicky asked us to let you know how she was.
Thanks for your help and advice.

Lighting a basic and broken in parts, but much better than other CRC which have just one par can working, sound is good though, unlike other CRC's. Venue very clean, nice size. Its ok, music was ok, chart and old school.

A cheeky little dive that's open til one or two, can't really recall. What I do remember, on my last visit there a few years back, was drunkenly chatting up a Welsh student at the end of the night, only for a bouncer to tell me to piss off home so he could get into her knickers which, presumably, he did, as they left in a cab minutes later.
Scumbag. That was supposed to be me.
