We came here during the Autumn half-term break. Despite being v. busy, the staff were friendly and polite. The selection of real ales was impressive with their own house beer "Bay View Sunset" quite delicious. For the record, this was the day we heard the "Boom" (26/10/06) - an enormous supersonic bang (apparently) caused by a meteorite entering the atmosphere, which knocked our kids off their feet, on the lovely beach. Anyway, I fondly recommend the Bay View Inn as being very friendly...even to Northerners.

Couldn't agree more with the previous comment. Ate dinner here during a visit at Easter - very popular and busy at weekends but only because it's such a great pub. Food was good and they even had live classical guitar music. Came back last weekend and couldn't get a table for dinner so had to sit in the garden and drink the beer instead. Excllent ale including Skinner's Doom Bar and their own 'Bay View Sunset' beer (very quaffable). Garden has a little playground to keep the kids amused and a life-size tardis and K-9 (don't ask me why). Pleasant view over the bay - nice sunsets. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

I liked this place straightaway, not least because the staff actually seemed pleased to see you - rare in Cornish pubs if you are a casual tourist customer, in my experience at least. We sat on the sunny terrace and enjoyed great quality local beer. The food menu looked good for a 'gastro-pub' type of meal. Some 'basic pub' hot snacks might be an idea. A discount/loyalty scheme operates for regulars giving 10% off purchases. Free newspapers and an area with comfortable lounge chairs. Children seem welcome with good play area outside. Minus point:Gents toilets could do with an odeur reducing 'once over'
All in all: my sort of place and I wish I lived a little closer.

Great food and beer. Can be too busy.

Truly hideous mark up on very poor wines - sell Blossom Hill (makes Blue Nun taste like Krug !!) for £14 a bottle even though they bought it for about £2.50 !!!
Food OK not special.

The Bay View inn is a great place for a pint of real ale. Not only does it have 8 real ales on at any one time but 4 are drawn straight from the cask. The real ale pub of North Cornwall
