It's a mixture of a young person's local and older persons cheap eating house, with no cosy setaing for the casual drinker, but the beer (Moorhouses and Wychwood) was really good.

This pub is making an effort with the real ale, but sadly the clientele left something to be desired on yesterday's visit. Cambridge has plenty of nice pubs for me to bother with this one again.

Large 1930s mock Tudor drinking house next to a main road. Clean and airy inside, but too many Sky Sports screens/fruit machines/chavy locals to have any real atmosphere. A fair number of science-park types drinking on a Friday evening and give it a more diverse atmosphere.
The range of guest ales is good: normally 4 or 5 that rotate regularly. Quality is pretty good, but the temperature can be on the cold side.
(I think the manager and real ales are a new feature, so some of the "poor beer" comments below may no longer be relevant).
Friendly manager but the rest of the staff are probably minimum-wage kids, so service is efficient but charmless.
Verdict: good if one is in the area, but not worthy of a specific trip.

Went in at lunchtime. Was pretty awful. Overheard someone saying they had been waiting an hour for food so we decided not to get any and just have a drink. Waited ages at the bar as only two staff, one of whom was a trainee. Pathetic when you consider it was very busy. The other member of staff on the bar seemed content to constantly talk to a friend on the phone about how busy it was rather than helping her inexperienced friend. When the (decentish) pint arrived my glass was smeared in lipstick. Wont be going back.

Fairly dismal. Was taken there by a relative: "Good value for food", he said. If you like microwaved food and oven chips. Fairly poor beer.

The great British roast is something to behold. And not having one in a good long while, I saw the sign for sunday carvery and stoped in. It really was the worst meal i have ever had and not just in a pub but ever in my life. The meat the mash the veg all crap and no yorkshire pub
