It is the bus stop pub and that was the only good thing about it I thought.

A so so place not helped by the overpowering St. Austell brewery which is sadly taking over Cornwall.

A St Austell brewery house.

Two bars. A larger room with a pool table serving as one bar, another room on a slightly different level used mainly for dining being the other. A still larger room on the first floor with a good view of the river used as a dining room.

Tribute and Proper Job on tap at time of visit, both in good order served by friendly, pleasant staff. As previously mentioned, the pub is well away from the main street of Fowey with all its trendy shops, cafes and restaurants and it certainly has the feel of being more a 'locals' pub....and none the worse for that.
Interesting old photographs on the wall which show the place was once called the 'Commercial Hotel'. If you feel energetic enough to walk up the steep hill, its worth the effort.

Unless you have just tumbled off the bus (which terminates outside) then you will have to make an effort to get to this pub as it is at the top of the very steep Brown's Hill. This is the local's boozer and there's nothing wrong with that! St.Austells ales again with Dartmoor and Tribute being the regulars. Pool table in the main bar and all very clean and tidy and friendly. They do B&B and food but the quiz machine had all the wrong answers on it when I played!!! I did actually allow some time for a beer before the bus came and you can time this to prefection !! Good pub which is worth the walk away from the main tourist bars in downtown Fowey.

Normal St Austell beers and main area at the front of the pub taken up by a pool table but seems a decent locals pub.

My favourite pub in town when on holiday here mainly as Landlords are friendly and actually seem to care about their customers. The walk up the hill makes it worth it and seems to be a later opening pub too. Decent food and ales. The Main St money /tourist grabbing attitudes could learn something

Decent pub tucked away at the top of a hill. Not one youre going to stumble across walking along Foweys main street, but worth a walk up the hill by the church. Two separate bars, one kitted out with a pool table and TV screens, the other being a lounge bar with a beamed ceiling and a decent choice of food. The upstairs dining room apparently has good views of the estuary.

Three St. Austell beers on tap, plus Blackthorn cider.
