Made my first visit to this pub this afternoon, and found it to be a reasonably pleasant place to pass an hour or so away over a couple of pints. Nice enough environment with some exposed brickwork, some tiffany style lamp lamp shades and a nice little fire place. There is a variety of seating which all seemed comfortable and in good nick. The bar staff were welcoming and quick, somewhat at odds with a sign I noticed on the door when I was already half way in which stated "regulars only at all times". No real ales but a variety of lagers and bitters, all at very reasonable prices. The wine my friend had was I am reliably assured very drinkable and again the price was good. An advert on our table indicates that the prices for spirits and mixers are similarly attractive.
The regulars didn't seem as hostile as the sign outside might have led me to believe and the atmosphere whilst on the quiet side was pleasant.
For entertainment there is a decent jukebox that isn't turned up too late, a few screens showing the sport and mercifully out of cueing range of all the drinking tables, there is also a pool table occupying the rear conservatory area.
If you happen to be passing it's worth popping in for one or two, but perhaps not worth heading to as your main destination for an afternoon or night out.

Sham Irish is not my sort of pub - I much preferred it in olden days when it was The Prince Albert. Still known by locals (including my 90-year old Mum) as "Doc Maynard's" after a former landlord. My alcoholic great grandad actually died standing at the bar in 1937!

Love this pub, great atmosphere. There a karaoke comp starting in there this fri (8th oct 2010) should be fun. With the best karaoke host around Jodie Stone :)

An Irish bar with actual genuine Irish customers and a great, I believe the word is 'craic'. So at 11pm on St Patrick's ight, what's the worst thing that can happen that doesn't involve death or injury?
The Guinness runs out!
It was all going so well til that pint, I mean point.......

Hmm. Styles itself as "just a good old London pub", but it has the appearance of a rather nondescript Irish bar that could be almost anywhere in the British Isles. No real ale of course, just keg Courage Best and John Smiths, Guinness and lots of dull lagers. Still, the locals look like they enjoy this place (but why?).

Good Boozer when i was in here.
Obviously a Locals place, but didnt feel unwelcome
Guinness good, barstaff quick and friendly
Would defiantly use again when on one of my nostalgia trips up Enfield Lock and Wash

I'm amazed this hasn't been given a rating as yet.

Been coming here regulary for about 18 months, Received a fair amount of hostility to begin with (nothing new in Enfield).

The new partbership of Mae and Alfie have made me feel very welcome since then, I have also made many drinking buddies there too.

Beer is very cheep (2.20) on weekdays before 5pm and there is often goos entertainment on during the weekends.

For me it's worth a visit and is easily one of the best pubs in North Enfield
