Not sure why last post gave only 2 out of 10 purely on the basis the kitchen was closed. We loved this pub, very clean, the staff friendly and it had a pool table that put most others to shame, the beer was good too. I guess if you are hungry and it is late in the day then this one may not be for you, if you want a decent pint in a nice pub, then give it a visit

Went in for the first time on a Friday night, expecting to eat, but at 7.15 the kitchen had just closed! I probably won't bother again. The beer wasn't bad though, so I generously rate the pub as 2 out of 10!

An average sort of place really.
Was filling up with the saturday night crowd when we were in so we quickly left.

6/10

Surprised to see some half decent beer on draft (Bays Gold), but very cold. There are better pubs in Minehead

Too noisy, indifferent beer, cant recomend it.
The loud music seems to be mainly for the staff, as it was almost empty when I visited.

And with todays concerns re the enviroment, is it sensible to have outside lighting on in bright sunlight ?

Popped in again today - if anything, it's got worse than when I previously reviewed it last August.

Lots of staff wandering around but not serving customers. The Dartmoor we tried was totally indifferent - possibly because of the very tight sparkler used.

Possibly being taken over by Wetherspoons might improve it.

My wife had a live magot on her plate, which the waitress shouted right across the pub, the manager did'nt seem interested and just offered a free sweet, HE MUST BE JOKING, we would never eat in there again.

Quite rowdy and a fair amount of blue language shouted about the place, it was late on a friday afternoon though. busy and the food wasn't bad.

Sports bar with lots of screens showing footy. Didn't see any ale.

Visited yesterday - 3 beers on, 2 from St Austell and 1 from Exmoor. The latter was indifferent - getting to, if not at, the end of the barrel. Changed without question though for some acceptable Dartmoor. Helpful staff although a little on the noisy side.

Very Nice Pint Of SA Tribute, Friendly Service, Reasonable Prices, 7/10

Late comment from September, but we had good beers in this chain type pub, and they were Yeovil and Cotleigh. No problem with food either. Yes there were Butlins crowds and kids, but there is a Butlins there so you have to expect it.

This is the noisiest pub I have been in. Paris says it all.

How this place rates 7/10 I dont know; I'd say its more like 2/10. Its a chain type pub offering no real ale except the usual Greene King and Old Speckled Hen served in these places. Caters for the Butlins and stag party crowds. Walk up the Hill to the Queen's Head.
