If you are on a year out in England and spend your time slagging of the crap weather not like back in Aus, then this is the pub for you. Absolutely awful for everyone else. You'll get more culture in a yoghurt than you would in this place.

Carly Simon?? Linda Ronstadt??? You into necrophilia or something?
jagsfan - 12 Jul 2011 12:53
If Carly Simon, Linda Rondstat, Patsy Kensit and Samantha Janus all rang me up begging for a serving up cos the were gagging for it and it had to be at the Billabong bar, Wimbledon then I'd still not turn up. This is as far away from being an english boozer as you can possibly get. Donate it back to Kevin Dunn, the Prisoners of Cell Block H, The Sullivans, INXS, Angry Anderson, O.N.-John and Ned Kelly and their likes as those pxxy hand wash supping ex convicts from darrn uuuunder mate seem to like this inane liquid pig sweat. Oh yes if Barry "DAME EDNA" Humpreys turns up then someone left hand the unfunny clout head.
Mcloj - 12 Jul 2011 12:38
Now called Billabong Bar but is an exact clone of the Walkabout it once was.
nicktrow - 14 Oct 2010 11:33
No longer Walkabout - appears to be reopening as "Billabong"

This place is awesome!!!! I've just move to the area and i can't believe my luck with having this place on my doorstep. They have a great discount card that gives me cheap food and booze. Definetly worth a visit on a thursdays and a sundays where they have 1.50 Snakebites.

Not a place to visit for the quality of beer. However, found the atmsophere lively & a good mix of sexes. The beer deal last night - buy one bottle get one free was appreciated, despite a post Fulham match hangover.
Wilson_MacDonald - 29 Dec 2008 12:07
Don't bother going in here unless you subscribe to the view that all Aussies are the most generous, easy going and friendly people on the planet and will give a warm welcome to anyone from anywhere. Priority will always be given for any sporting event involving Australia. Beer average but why on earth would you go here for beer?
stevosgloriosus - 10 Feb 2008 22:24
Went there a few years back and it was pretty boring really....compared to other Walkies.

Toilets did not have a flush option so there was urine everywhere.

I went in here on Monday having previously thought it looked very nice. The food coming out of the kitchen looked good so I ordered a duck salad for my lunch. Took one bite of it and very nearly threw up. It was without a doubt, the most revolting food I have ever eaten. I don't know what they had done to it, but I for one will never eat in there again

Myself & a mate visited this pub recently one Saturday lunchtime to watch some football... flat lager & a horrible smell of vomit that wafted by every 5 seconds or so forced us to leave at half-time. Still, on the plus side, it had lots of screens, and lots of room (unlike the O'Neill's next door which was jam-packed). Why was The Walkabout so empty? Hmmm... was it the flat lager or the smell of vomit? Flat lager/vomit? I just don't know.

Dropped in an hour before the England v Sweden game, sat down for five minutes before my chair and table were removed incase of trouble later..... Ok chain pub I guess, but no real ale so not a bonzer place in my book.

I went to Walkabout in Wimbledon for a drink with 2 of my friends today. At one point, one of us needed to use the bathroom. He went through a wrong door and came straight back after he realised the bathroom wasn't there, but the pub manager came to us shouting and kicked us out. There were no signs saying there was anything private behind the door (it only said to keep the doorway clear), and there were lots of people going back and forth all the time, coming back to the pub after a couple of minutes so it was an honest mistake to think that the bathrooms were located there. But I won't make the mistake of going there again, the pub manager asked why we went there and then didn't even listen to us when we explained that we didn't realise, but he just threw us out. I will never go to that pub again and will not recommend it to anyone. In fact, I'll never go to any Walkabout again, I really don't want that same kind of treatment again for a simple mistake.

I kinda miss Chumleys and my pints of Arc lager in the summer.

Shame it'll always be full of ape like Chelsea fans.

Was there when England won the world cup - great atmosphere and not a hint of trouble.

Nice in the evenings if you like to sweat and dance - not sure if the "please don't dance" sign is a joke!

s'alright...I guess. Pretty bog standard really.

This place is better than it would be if it was a place for Brits to go and get drunk/be jingoistic, but then presumably the so-called liberals and our friends at the CRE would close it down anyway. I have absolute nothing against Aussies/Saffas, unless there's a whole bunch of them hammered in a small space. Which is what you'll find here. So if that floats your boat, you'll love it.

Went in on a Sunday and got taken back to some old skool rave- Smoke machine, glowsticks, people dancing on tables. Was pleasantly suprised as I had heard that they didn't have a music licence. Was very packed with sweaty South African men, but if you like that sort of thing (if you catch my drift) then get on 'down' there.

Only popped in for a couple of beers to watch the football. Ended up absolutely hammered on 2 4 1 snakeys! Top tunes played by DJ and the women were gorgeous. Not too keen on working today. Bring on next wednesday...

Milky - 11 Aug 2003 11:23
wasnt bad- altough if you want to go to the bathroom i suggest you leave yourself plenty of time to fight your way through a crowd of butch guys who think that you really want to be groped on your way through
anonymous - 5 Aug 2003 23:32
Lots of nice butch Aussie men in there, a lot better bloke than in the "The bar" and nice big toilets also.
S. Cu'MM'ings - 4 Jul 2003 11:59

This walkabout looked well smal but it was big but it so packed didn't get 2 enjoy it that much but music was good and evry one seemed 2 b avin a wicked time so go if your desperate to be up and close to people as you will!!
Sophie - 23 Apr 2003 15:56
Since it was turned into a Walkabout it's crap. Can't get to the bar or even the toilets on certain nights. Stay away.
Briony - 31 Mar 2003 13:11
Very crowded on a Saturday night- but lively. Castle in bottles is a huge bonus to any pub.
Mike - 19 Mar 2003 15:46
It's Open
It's a Walkabout.
It's the nuts!
Packed to the rafters on saturday nights - bottles of castle lager, cheesy load music. Great Fun.
Angus - 19 Mar 2003 15:03
Closed pending reinvention as yet another Walkabout, so I hear.
dsf - 3 Jan 2003 10:20
Boy has it changed since Jonsey made his comment :o)
2Shirts - 16 Dec 2002 15:10
It's OK but ask for a Sea Breeze and you get a glass of grapefuit juice with a hint of cranberry and the tiniest drop of vodka.
Briony - 29 Oct 2002 11:05
This pub has changed!! Gone are the rugger pics. It is now cleaner and fresher looking. Prices are comparible and a good range of drinks, incl. wines are stocked. Unrivalled for live sport, and will be showing all England, Ireland and S.A World cup games, incl. Tri-nations, super 12s and all live available football. Well worth a visit.
Rikk - 7 May 2002 01:54
Expensive and full of Aussie Rugger Buggers - won't let you in wearing a football shirt (so just tourists and meatheads).
