Thanks for the compliments, I worked behind the bar here for a few years (during the complimentary posts) and it was a great pub. Mikey and I used to serve faster than any other staff ive ever met, its a small bar but i dont think anyone ever really waited longer than 2minutes for a drink even during crazy-busy lunchtimes. Hats off to the chef Mia too who was amazing and served up great chicken and leek pies or her infamous lasagne. The ole place had character and many nights where people could relax after work with tables perfect for small groups and never any trouble. Was a pleasure to work there, alas its been knocked down. RIP the city tup (aka the shitty tip :))

As of 6 January 2006, when I walked along Gresham Street this pub was closed up.

Shame as it was a nice place.

A great find in the City. I will be coming back here whenever I'm in the area. Fantastic cask ale served and a great menu. The bar staff serve you reasonably quickly and are friendly.
I went there and the upstairs area looked very busy, but I still got served in under 2 minutes.
Never been in the evening but hope to go soon on my next city visit. A truly real Pub, not the modern wine bar type popping up all over the place in recent years.10/10 from me.

Well yeah,..i dont really know why this boozer is on massivepubs.com,..cos you are in no danger of getting lost in the fcuking place! But its alright really,..partly cos its never too busy and the service is relatively speedy,..and also cos its easy on the eye and no one from my work goes in there! Good place to read the paper of a lunchtime,...Food too,.. if thats what greases your pole. No fruity any more,..

Before its makeover at the turn of the last century, this was a proper boozer called over the years variously the "3 Bucks" or "Shorts". Since becoming a "Tup" the bar space has become chair and table free, with nowhere to stand your pint or hang your coat. Upstairs is OK for food, but there is no bar so it involves a lot of beer carrying to use the extra space.

Friendly city pub, great food and lovely gallery for a chat in the evening. Really like the atmosphere and the staff.

Not too bad, small inside with hardly any seating and full of city types. Prices aren't bad given the fact it's central London but not really the place you'd stay all night. Small telly for football games but there are better pubs in the area.

Not a fan of this pub at all - too noisy, too much focussed on the 'standing up' crowd. The worst pub by some margin within walking distance of Guildhall.

City boozer a stones throw from the Guildhall and the Barbican. Had a fantastic steak sandwich there last week - absolutely huge! Decent balcony section for table service food. Lots of suits in there, naturaly...
