Visited on the day after they reopened after a short new year break. Very obliging service and a good pint. Clearly a food led place tho'

If I wanted a civilised meal in convivial surroundings, I'd come here again - the food is excellent (great roast beef) and the service tries hard. But that same service is too fussy if you just fancy a pint or three, even though the beer is fairly good.

Agree with 2009 posts. Very good selection of local beers, and a very nice Swedish cider.

My local pub, I live a few doors down. Wonderful food, I think the chef is very talented. Great local beers, such as Hogs Back and Loddon. Not so much a pub, more like a restaurant with a bar. John runs a tight ship and you won't ever be kept waiting long.
Quite pricey but you get what you pay for. A nice quiet place to take someone special.

A really nice, clean and tidy pub, but very pricey indeed if you went in with a tenner for a pint you wouldnt get much change! thats the only problem!!! otherwise, good local ales and great food! With this ression thats on at mo, expensive pubs arent going to be the way forward to attract customers!

Pub is smart with a nice beer garden at rear!

Excellent pub, guest beers from local breweries served in pristine condition.
The food is freshly cooked from the finest ingredients, the menu is inovative with a few specials. The pub is owned by John the landlord who ensures the cleanliness and serice are up to his own high standard.
This is my local and I am happy to pay for quality.
