A pub which is clean and has what is expected, however I did witness an elderly, disabled gentleman being asked to leave due to "having enough to drink" despite what looked to me like one single pint.

This is atrocious behaviour from the member of staff. The old fella, looked quite shakey and clearly had physical problems, yet no respect or understanding was given to him. The man's partner or carer even returned to sit with him, yet they were still asked to leave.

If people with disabilities are treated in such a way, I cannot bring myself to drink in the establishment again. Socking behaviour, the landlord or landlady should be ashamed of themselves.

Took a knock during the "riots", wish them well. Nice pub, get a lot right here.

I visited this pub to try their Sunday roast, which I'd heard good things about. The interior is very clean and the furniture all looks fairly new. Sadly there were no ales on offer, and the Carling tasted a little tainted, but others in my group had no complaints about their drinks.
The roast was enormous and very enjoyable. All the food is proper home-cooked stuff and on the basis of this meal, I'd definitely recommend the food to others.
There's a small outside drinking area (with a TV), which is a great sun-trap in the afternoon.
If they could do something about the beer selection, this would be the undisputed pub of choice in this part of Croydon.

I was staying in a hotel just up the road and found this a nice welcoming clean pub, although from the outside it does not look anything special. Was impressed with the menu and what appeared to be very reasonable prices for London. Their choice of draught beers was surprisingly small (just a couple of lagers and no real ales) but that apart this is a decent pub.

Have been using this Pub on and off for a couple of weeks as i have a friend in the near by Hostpital and i have to say it is a good solid pub with good beer and food also has a area out the back for the smokers which has a flat screen tv and a fruit machine will be a good spot when the world cup is on.

Exceptionally clean and most welcoming pub, the landlady gives according to the regulars a consistently warm welcome.Far to many publicans treat the pub- goer as someone in desperate need,. iI have stopped going to any pub that thinks it can do without trade.

Street corner pub with a small, single bar with bare wood floors and a raised carpeted area. The cask ale is Courage Best with the possibility of an occasional guest ale.
The emphasis is on food, served until 9pm Monday to Friday and 7pm weekends. Extensive menu featuring home made and home cooked meals and Sunday roasts. Curry night Tuesdays. Handy for visitors to Mayday Hospital just round the corner.

Rather strangely refurbished street corner local. Only real use is it's about 20 yards from the hospital should you need stress relief after a visit there.
