Pub closed over a year ago. Now a restaurant.

Now reopened as a gay pub - cask ales available including a well kept Golden Pippin.

This pub has just changed hands and is UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT; The legendary James Butler previously of Yorkshire Brewery Pub fame is the new manager and improvements are notable alreaday after only one week. Now open from 16.30 Mon to Thursday and all day at the weekends this pub is great for those on a crawl from the Maltings and heading into town; although it is a nice palce to sit and taken in the atmosphere you will have no need to move on. rated 8 but I am sure will become a 10 in no time.

If you like sitting in an almost empty bar with no atmosphere then this is the place for you.
Nice pint of Black Sheep but not much else going for it.

Good beer but the overall atmosphere is somewhat lacking. Nothing to entice me back in given the other options within a 2 mins walk.

OK pub with friendly enough bar staff.
Nice pint of Rudgate Viking.
Front bar lacked atmosphere and the decor could do with a lick of paint.

Great value home cooked food, friendly staff and good atmosphere. Also have a good selection of real ale....bonus!
