ok so it has an impressive beer garden and its great that its still one of a few real traditional pubs left that hasn't been modernised and had the heart and soul ripped out of it. However the staff have about as much charisma as a dead slug and the food when you can get it is very bland and uninspiring. If your in Yarm and hungry there are better places to try. Ok for a beer though.

Great pub when it's not crowded. Good choice of real ale with Timothy Taylor and Bass on tap, nice bar staff, good food. A good choice for a leisurely daytime drink when it's not so busy

Just too busy for me. no point going in on a tuesday, friday or saturday if you want to be served within 30 minutes. Massively crowded at the bar because of the capacity of the beer garden.

The now have Timmy Taylor Landlord as well as the 'best pint of bass in the country' as was claimed.

Supposed to be the best pub in yarm. This is only true by the size of the queue at weekends. It is probly best for atmospere but this can reflect in the time you spend at the bar, which is often 10 mins plus. great garden with gas heaters for cold nights and top totty too. Overcrowding is the only reason that i rate this lower than the george.

Probably the most popular pub in yarm, and the only one which attracts a queue.

It's a good pub and despite the overcrowding it's relatively easy to get served, seems to attract an older crowd.

Great beer garden though!

Lovely pub - definitely the best in Yarm. People may knock the fact you sometimes have to queue, but once you're in its not totally rammed and 15 deep at the bar like all the other pubs in the high street. Other pubs should take note.

Lovely beer garden, friendly staff and good offers for my double JD and coke.

I'm off there now actually...

I go to the Black Bull everytime I want a drink as it is the nicest of the Yarm pubs. Reasonably prced drinks and a mixed crowd. A great place to chill in the summer.

All true fri/sat drinkers can't skip a bevvy in the bull. It's been going strong for years now and I personally love the place. Getting served however reqiures years of training, but the bar in the garden has helped things tremendously. I always have a good time at the Bull, guarenteed.

Great pub! Nice garden in summer (but not many seats out in the sun itself) and warm cozy open fire in winter.

great pub but a little crowded come 10pm when getting to the bar can be a struggle. Fantastic atmosphere though and you can have a conversation as well!!!

Yarm is a fantastic night out if you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere with friends. I usually start off in the Bull. Always a friendly face and it's best on a friday or saturday night. Arrive before 8:30pm to avoid queues. It's gorgeous in the summer in the beer garden, night and day. Yummy grub too!

Great night in Yarm on a Tue, Thur, Fri & Sat. Get in the Bull early to avoid queue. Great atmosphere and selection of drinks. No crazy music banging away. Polite door & bar staff. I'll be back for sure!!
