user reviews of the Chequers Inn, Dalton On Tees

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Markh seems to be an 'interested party' . Maybe better to wait for independent reviews. I shall visit soon and post my impartial review.

We visited for the first time since the pub reopened last Tuesday. The temporary licensees were friendly, and made us feel very welcome. Meals prices have been reduced, and a two course deal is on offer for 9-95. Three cask ales were available at the time of our visit. The pub has lost a lot of clutter, like the suspended flags in the bar area, and the penny-farthing bike. It seemed a lot cleaner as a result. It was very quiet on the lunchtime. The pub remains 'to let'. If previous reviews may have put you off going, please give it a try. A new menu is planned in the near future as well. As with hundreds of pubs in the UK at the moment its a case of 'use it or lose it'.

Unfortunately had a meal recently. Food overcooked and sent back. Service ok but smarmy over bearing Landlord is still there. Most locals alienated by him. Prices skyrocket when it's track day at the local Croft Circuit. Could never recommend it.

Unfortunately had to visit with friends, it lived it to my poor expectations. Beer was poor, food dull and unimaginative. staff harassed constantly by the bullying over-bearing smarmy Landlord. Do not visit this dump!

Overpriced beer and soft drinks. What a rip off. Landlord hasn't grasped concept of "customer always King"

Dull boring , foody pub. Landlord is a complete tool , sarcastic and slimy. Avoid.
