A relief to find Thatchers Traditional real cider here, after being offered a choice of chemofizzs at the other end of the village.

The menu loooked good, but I had no chance to sample it. Very nice riverside garden.

We must have been very lucky the day we visited this pub.
We sat outside on a hot summers day by the river. All our drinks were fine
and our food was great.
I guess that sometimes they must struggle in peak times although that is still no excuse for poor service.

9/10

Great expectations - extremely disappointed. Had to send my jacket potato back as it was yellow and tasted awful, must have been re-heated several times! An apology was given and I re-ordered, a sandwich this time. Sandwich was great but there was obviously a difference in price - had to queue to get a refund. No complimentary pudding or drink was offered for the inconvenience of having to complain, and wait for my re-order. In the meantime my husband was eating his sirloin steak, he was not impressed. He said it was tasteless and seemed to have been cooked and reheated. We would not go to this pub again, not good value for money and food over rated. An enormous disappointment for a birthday lunch.

Had a great time on Exmoor last weekend despite the blizzard conditions. Myself and my husband popped into The Exmoor White Horse Inn for a bite to eat and a couple of pints. We had an excellent meal of the local venison pie which was the best I have ever tasted followed by a couple of pints of Two Stroke, supurb! Highly recommend this pub.

This pub could be so good, it has everything going for it, charactar, setting, landscape etc, but they seem to have aimed at mediocrity and managed to achieve it.
It seems as though the managerment might once have worked for sizzling steak or some other branded pub, and doesn't know anything else. Such a pity, such a waste.

Full of the hunting, shooting, fishing types that frequent the village pubs in this part of the country.

I agree with BobOs, this pub could be a lot better than it is considering its location - don't make a special journey.

OK pub if you stumble across it or happen to be camping down the road, but you wouldn't make a special trip to get here. When I stayed locally I visited here once then invariably drove in to Minehead for an ale.

Agree with the last reviewer. The place was practically empty when I visited, the staff were completely disinterested in serving me, preferred to chat amongst themselves. When I did get a drink it was out of condition. I couldn't wait to get out of the place!

Disappointing lack of atmosphere in this place - despite being in a village, has a 'chain pub' atmosphere to it. Appears to cater mostly for tourists - being in such a lovely village it's a shame to find something so sterile and devoid of character. Try the bar of the nearby Crown Inn Hotel (not listed here, yet). Despite being attached to a hotel, the Crown Inn has a real villagey feel, and food to die for.

Not too many folk seem to have found this pub yet..! But its worth it when you do! Popular with local families, and grockles alike! I liked it. TJ

Large, old hotel/pub. Substantial restaurant area, catering for families. Interesting bar, with 'barrel feature' built into it. (Fantastic display of local photographs, by the manager. Colour & black+white local views, and picturesque scenes. For sale, and well worth seeing)! TJ
