Doesn't really feel like a pub. Everything, including drinks, is served at the table. I asked the waitress what was the strength of the ale and she didn't understand the question.

On the other hand, the food was very good, the service was cheerful and there was nothing wrong with the ale. Good place to take your Mum for lunch (which was what I was doing) or your children if you have 'em, but it lacks the pub atmosphere.

Having previously eaten here in the evening and had a throughly enjoyable time we thought after awalk we would call in at lunch time and grab a bite to eat, my partner had a sausage bap with chips while i choose the ploughmans, the menu listed, pork pie, scotch egg, ham hock terrine, 2 local cheeses, apple celery and pickles.
so you can imagine my disappointment when it arrived minus the apple celery and pickles, (i did point this out and they were bought to me) not a bit of salad garnish to be seen, leaving the plate looking very grey, and not at all appertising, and there were not 2 but three cheeses, being, brie, cranberry wenslydale, and smoked applewood!!! where o where was the Cheddar!!! and NO ploughmans pickle, but some sweet chutney, and the scotch egg turned out to be a boiled one,,,,,, i feel they have tried to give this classic dish a modern tweak,, NO, DONT DO IT, i will not be having the Corbet Arms Ploughmans Lunch again, it spoilt my afternoon, my partner unfortunatly whisked me away before i could give any feedback to the proprietor!!! lets hope he/she reads this and takes note.

Went through the door and was immediately ushered to a table!! I wanted to see the beer selection........ordered food, goats cheese parcels wouldn't have fed a mouse, however steak ok ish. Beer turned out to be not bad, lager was lager. Ok but not cheap and lacked character.....

Me and the wife went here with some friends for a special occasion, the transformation is unbelievable, it still has the feel of a village pub even though it has been updated, the food was spot on. They are the best homemade chips we had ever tasted. Alan who looks after the restaurant looked after us all night and had time for a chat before we left, we were made to feel very welcome. The views from the patio are beautiful, there was even a game of bowls on whilst we were there so we sat and had a drink whilst watching them. All in all definately worth a visit. We will definately be returning.

The Corbet Arms has reopened after undergoing a huge makeover. I dropped by yesterday afternoon and a very good job has been done. There's a small bar area and a huge louge area for diners, along with doors at the back which lead out to a wooden balcony and an absolutely spectacular view of Shropshire. There were a few customers in when I arrived including a group of elderly people there for a meal. I had 3 pints of Carling and while the first and last were good, the second was a bit flat but I'll forgive them. Overall, a very nice pub, particularly for diners & I can see myself coming here again.

The Corbet Arms is the only pub in the village of Uffington, which is to the east of Shrewsbury in Shropshire. Nice location, between Haughmond Hill and the River Severn, with bowling green and large car park at front. Not to be confused with the Corbet Arms in nearby Upton Magna.
