Visited Saturday, definately appears it will never open again, shame really it was a nice old pub ,think there are flats above ,so i would imagine the whole place will eventually be converted . Back in the last century good real ales were sold there.

as of 08/01/2011 this place has definitely closed down again, in fact it looks like it hasn't opened its doors for some time

Forget the last comment! Went in there on Saturday before my team Hartlepool played Southend. The doors may have re-opened but the pub is still derelict!

Iam not sure if they own a hoover and there were fag ends all over the place. There was only lager on tap (x2) and staff were more interested in eating chips and chatting than serving the small number of punters. There was loud dance music playing at midday when there were only 2 of us in there and although they have a big screen there is no Sky TV.

It was worth a quick look as there are not many pubs left in this state as they have all had re-furbs, been knocked down or even employed a cleaner!

This pub has now re-opened and will once again be a favourite for away fans. It isn't a great pub but there is no good ones in the area. It is near the away turnstiles and about the only one in the area to welcme away fans.

Pub closed down early / mid November 2008 and, a short while after, suffered fire damage. Not one of my favourite pubs by any means but still rather sad to see yet another one bite the dust.....

Beer OK, h.bomb? They have no real ales at all and the Becks Vier ran out after half a pint. No-one said so; they just gave me a half instead of a pint! Filled rolls are the only food. Crumby loos and back yard too. Blue Boar is much better.

Went to this pub on a football match and it was heaving with away fans. Beer was surprisingly ok and not too pricy. Avoid on match days if not an away fan.

Pretty crummy pub, not hard to see why they stick the away fans here after football matches.
