user reviews of the Station Bar, Hove

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Large refurbished pub opposite the station. The music was too loud, the drinks were expensive, too few tables, a lary clientele with too much attitude - both the men and the women, and scruffy with all tables requiring a good wipe down. My pint was distinctly average - so average in fact I can't remember what it was. We amused ourselves for a few minutes watching a police squad dealing with a solitary wino at the bus-stop by the door. I'd only revisit this place again if my train was cancelled.

Pub-cafe-bar kind of place that has resurrected the old station pub in its own way with some nice beer and the food looked very palatable. Airy decor and couches where they will leave you alone.

Went in with the lady last night to kick off a night out around hove. Limited selection of sales but plenty of varieties of foamy continental lager if that's more your thing. Popped in later on way home and had a great pizza. Friendly staff, some slightly ropey clientele! Not one to write home about but pleasant enough.

the chef stares at and scares my friend - apart from that its pleasant enough

Being opposite Hove Station, this is ideal for a pint on the way home. Unless, of course, you live in Rochdale. Was once a proper boozer, but now it's more of a pub-bar that specialises in made-to-order pizzas that are cooked in an open oven. Ive never had one, but they look tasty enough.

Been here quite a few times, mainly for the ale, Harvey's and Spitfire last time I was in. It's got a nice atmosphere about it, busy on most evenings, especially fridays. Saw the jazz there one saturday and was blown away.

Had a good time at the quiz last night: friendly, efficient staff, good bunch of people and the food looked great (I didn't eat there because I had not long had my dinner but I might in future).

All round, I'd recommend this pub (and that's not just because I won the quiz)

Spent saturday night at the new Comedy Station, free monthly comedy night as well as a dam good pizza beforehand. The place was rammed with a great atmosphere, and the comedians were actually funny too, (unlike most free comedy nights)
I'll defiantly be back next month
