For a start – it’s further out of Ardley than you might think!
Don’t be fooled by the olde-worlde exterior – it’s like a bit of an open-plan wine bar fit-out, ie not homely.
Pint and pineapple juice - £5.45! When I queried it landlord asked if I was from up North – cheeky b$”£$%!
Anyway he and the locals were welcoming and friendly, beer was good but he only had three on so you might not get something you want, although he reckons to always have a dark beer on. Tellys all on football night we were in.
I wouldn’t rush back but it’s ok.

As promised I was back and if anything the beer was in even better nick than last time.

An ideal stop off point between the M40 and A34.

A welcome stop just off the M40 and 1/2 mile from Ardley United FC. Welcoming hosts who allowed us to sample the beers before buying.

Beer was excellent too and after only being in the pub for 45 minutes as we needed to get back to Portsmouth for a mate to get the last train back to Worthing, I felt guilty that we couldn't stay any longer.

Will be back.

A friendly and welcoming pub with decent beers. Was asked if I'd like to sample before buying. The beers on offer were all on good form. Undoubtedly worth the effort to drop in to. If you come by bus be wary of the tendency for them to run a good 6 or 7 minutes early (miss the one on a Saturday and the next one isn't till Thursday).

Nice pub, a warm and pleasant pit stop on a dreadful winters night run up the M40. Unusual range of beers, Willoughby's has only been going a few months and I'm surprised it's got this far from home yet but was in good shape and very welcome. Unusual taste in furniture too, strangely high is one way of looking at it it I suppose. Well worth a stop, in just 5 minutes from the dreadful Cherwell Valley services you can't do better, or make for a longer visit if you're in the area anyway.

Top notch beer pub, the beers are constantly changing and there is always something unusual to be had.
The Landlord is a Leicester fan and regularly goes to matches, which makes him ok in my book (anyone who supports a smaller side has more passion for the game), he loves to have the Football on the TV, but you can get quiet parts of the pub.
No food, but thats ok too because the beer is king here. The garden is a true bonus in the summer.
The pub and toilets are spotless, what more could you want?

Beer is top class. I travel miles to get here and I'm never dissapointed! Shame about 'Eddie's' language!

Great range of beers. Can get very crowded when football on as bar is quite small. Very homely though and like the sweets behind the bar bit! Well worth a visit or two
