Not geared for drinkers - where the poor service as I sat at the bar and watched the bar staff become waitresses and waiters was something I have not encountered before.

Eventually (T+15 Minutes), when someone was manning the bar, I actually had to ask for a drink!

And the drink was a decent Loose Cannon Christmas Ale. Not heard of it before, but it was well kept and tasty.

Shame I was made to feel like a 2nd class citizen that could be served, provided I asked nicely and didn't upset the diners.

Just moved to the area.
Very fussy with my Pubs having worked in the industry for many years.
I heard that the place had a refurb and was now quite nice. I must say that it did not disappoint.
The beer was good and the wine choice for a place of this size well thought out. The menu and food was varied and delicious. Whilst it was quiet when my partner and I arrived it soon picked up and the atmosphere was buzzing.
Good to see owners who put a lot of care and effort into the place.

Shut at 16:20 on Bank Holiday Monday. Not the correct way to do business.

Lovely country pub. Recently stayed the night while on business at the near by business park. Fantastic selection of real ales and a warm and cosy atmophere. I did not try the food in the evening but the morning breakfast was outstanding. Don't know how it compares with other local pubs but it would be one of the best I imagine. If you like good beer, good food then worth a pop.

What a fantastic meal we had, all 26 of us. We all had the roasts, of which there was a choice of Pork, Beef or Chicken. All cane with roast potatoes, 3 veg, Yorkshire pudding and mashed potatoes. There was plenty of everything, and its the first time in a long time that I have had roast chicken that was a proper portion and looked like chicken, golden brown with crispy skin, and not some flat tastless fillet! Fir pudding I chose the Belgium chocolate, with cream. I must admit I do miss the Cornish Clotted cream the runny stuff just isn;t the same. There was also Apple pie on the menu, I would like to see a bigger range of sweets on the menu though. Amongst my walkers there were two Vegetarians who were also well catered for. The staff were efficient and very friendly. I can't really fault this pub, and ww will defiantely be eating there again.

What's happening there? Called today (Thursday in Feb)after a long walk, asked for a lunch menu - two charming Polish girls behind the bar said that they were not doing lunches on certain days of the week. A group of 15 walkers then arrived, then an elderly couple, all wanting lunch - so that's nearly 20 dissatisfield customers!
Now the pub's website is down!
