Found it to be dull, barely a pub, poorly transformed - bland even - more appropriately a restaurant with B&B rooms out back in adjoined chalet style. I stopped for a beer and whilst 2.90 for a pint of local ale (forgot name) was competitive, i didnt feel comfortable propping up the bar in a restaurant - staff seemed to be distracted/disinterested. Ale also served in those completely straight modern lager glasses - just not cricket really.

I didnt eat here but honestly if your in this zone of eating, your better off going to the pricey Plough inn (sparsholt) as at least its still full of pub character with good food

Only a flying visit, but despite being very much a foodie pub, there several locals gathered at the bar chatting, which is always a good sign.

Beer selection not great, it appears to be a lager drinker's pub.

Awful!! What more is there to say about this pertinacious pub (is it a pub??). If your an ale drinker......AVOID!!

Beautiful pub! My favourite in Winchester. More upper class and not really for just getting drunk in, more of a pub for quiet sophisticated drinking. Lovely and friendly and lead by an excellent team of staff. Restaurant serves extremely high quality food which I don't think you can beat for miles around!!! Excellent!!!

This pup is okay, but the Fox and Hounds has much better and much larger portions.
A little over priced, for what you actually get.

Fantastic pub. Beer is good (two local brews + lagers, etc.). Fairly well-to-do clientelle, but always friendly. Made us feel welcome after only a few visits, and we are now regulars. Lovely front terrace for eating out; recently(ish) been refurbished and is lovely throughout. Very recent build of "cabin" accommodation, and outside tables at the back of the excellent restaurant. The food is expensive, but FANTASTIC...well worth it, and always perfect. The wine is good - especially the Chilean Merlot. Staff are lovely - always welcoming and happy to chat, service in the restaurant is impeccable. Occasional, subtle live guitarist in the restaurant. We've spent lots of good evenings there, both eating and drinking, and loved it.
