I cant believe the comments written below! I have visited the Royal Oak on many occasions and have always found the staff extremely welcoming, the service great and the atmosphere fantastic! I know that there may have been incidents a few years ago when the management was different but over the past 12 months especially I have never had cause to complain. After a fab refurbishment recently they have just got better and better. The beer is very reasonably priced, infact cheaper than any other pub in Haworth and they NEVER add £s on when there are tourist events - unlike other pubs within the area. They have made a cracking effort over the last year and I have always had a great fun night.

Good place to find the local wanna be drug dealers. Not a pub, just a den for alcoholics

I recently visited this pub with my wife and inlaws wanting a bite to eat it was early doors and midweek.
Upon entering the pub was bland cream in woodchipped paper with a tiled floor it had and had around 12 people in including one woman who seemed to like nothing better than shouting at her kids.
we were also greeted by a lovely B.O smell which hit us straight in the face and around 3 people bouncing off the walls on something other than alcohol. my wife enquired regarding food and was told "we don't do food sorry" and didn't tell us where we could get any i nipped to the toilets so's not to make it seem like we were in a rush to leave......Very big mistake, the toilets smelled of urine and i could see reminance of vomit on the floor along with some part used white powder hmmm. needless to say we will not be visiting again and i'm ashamed i took my inlaws into a place that vial sorry.

I recently visited Haworth for a weekend break and visited this pub. The landlady explained that she had recently taken over the pub having moved from the North East. She was led to believe that this was a tourist pub but upon moving in found this not to be the case. It is most definately a local pub. I found the landlady (and her staff) to be very friendly and polite and will visit again in the near future. Wishing her good luck and every success and Michelle, if you read this, I will see you soon. Keep smiling.

to be honest this pub is now alot better than what it used to be, it is more lively!! and the owners do things for everyone so that everyone can be happy the kareoke was great! everyone is there to have fun and its like a big family, the last review seems as if someone feels a bit left out but dont join in and have fun, i wouldnt go into this pub before but now im there all the time, its the best pub in haworth now i would say, very much so............

Now under new ownership. Beer great but place was rowdy with a 30th birthday party going on (with unironic Karaoke, natch) and taking up 75% of the pub. The beardies from the railway opposite were sat looking bemused but resigned to the fact that there was nowhere else nearby for last orders. Not a place I'll hurry back to if this is the future.

Up for sale as of January 2007. Who's betting it'll end up closed and then remodelled as flats?

Solid looking building containing very little appeal. Staff(?) & locals appear to be killing time whilst awaiting the arrival of the mobile benefits van. John Smiths bitter on handpump undrinkable. Nearly tried the Deucharse but didn't want to get any more depressed.

Marvellous beer... try the Black Sheep, and good friendly service, in common with most "real" pubs in Yorkshire. Seems a bit soul-less... might be due to the serious flooding it's endured in the last couple of years. Popular with the railway lot from the KWVLR over the road. Incidentally, the Royal is a marvellous Georgian(?) building.
