Went in here whilst on a crawl around Twerton and would happily go back. A couple of Sharps brews on the pumps with Stowford Press and Black Rat for the apple fans. Pool and darts for pub sport, I won two games of Killer, check me out!

Popped into here on the way from Oldfield Park Station to Twerton Park, and was really impressed by the friendliness of the landlord and the local I chatted to at the bar. It's a bit invidious comparing it to the Royal Oak - it's not trying to be the Royal Oak. But what it does, it does well. I shall return when I next go to watch Bath City.

To PeoplesPalace, you may not wish to hear that it has been sold and is currently being renovated, but you needn't be put off! It is now a Free House, with beers priced accordingly. The new landlady and landlord are keen and have listened to the locals when making changes and bringing in beers. It is a friendly pub as you say, and the opening hours have been extended. Well worth a visit.

Mediocre pint of 6X,still bit pointless drinking here though with the royal oak just down the road, 6/10

I don't know what haggis is talking about, the new management are great and the general atmosphere is much better than it was. Granted it is more a local's pub but it is attracting a lot more people since the old grumpy landlord left. To say the fleece is better is an insult!

This pub is not rubbish, it is a hidden gem! Built into the terraced houses of this lovely street it has an unassuming character, a nice old interior, decent beer and friendly bar staff. I'm from London and they didn't give me any 'you ain't local' looks! Please don't renovate or sell!

Under new management so decided to take a chance and guess what......it's still rubbish. With so many decent pubs around ( The Royal Oak, The Fleece and The White Horse are all within walking distance ) why bother.
