The Ship is a pleasant old coaching inn located in the nice old town of Oundle. There is a lounge at the front and a TV/games room at the rear, with a decked patio also with a TV. Accommodation is offered. On my Tuesday night visit, the TV room was packed with youngsters watching Champions League football. I opted for the quieter and cosier front bar. Beers on were Nene Valley Lizzie's Ruby Bitter & DXB Special Bitter, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Sharps Doom Bar & Brewsters Hophead. The DXB was being dispensed on gravity. Worth a vist if you're ever in Oundle.

Visited here mid May for an early evening drink with my wife. My pint of Oakham Bishops Farewell was one of the worst I have ever had! My wife asked for a simple soda water which was flat so she asked for another which was also flat! Dont bother with this place! we certainly wont.

Unusual array of spirits. Smirnoff Gold evident. Worth a visit.

Had lunch here with the family on Saturday and was well impressed. The Ship is a charming unspoilt pub with a lot of character and friendly and efficient staff. The meals were excellent and reasonably priced. Choice of 4 real ales. I had a couple of pints of Springhead Bitter which were very drinkable but maybe just a tad below par.

The Ship has always been my favourite in Oundle - getting away from the rabble it it's seperate areas is always good, as well as the literary festival events.

Pleasant old pub that seems to cater for a mix of custom, certainly on Sunday. Not tried, the food, but beer only OK (probably representative of the local micros rather than quality of cellarmanship).

Not a bad pub - the beer is ok. BUT another pub spoilt by smokers. There seems to be no ventilation whatsoever

The food at the Rose and Crown nearby is much better. Certain members of bar-staff are notorious for being rude and unhelpful when land-lords are not there to keep an eye.
Toilets are not always kept clean.

Best pub in the midlands. 3 bars, one main bar with roaring fire for the old men, a bar for the long haired playing v loud alternative music, and a back bar that has house and dance music at weekends also live bands (Wedding Present played few years back.)Really good quality food and plenty of accomadation. Has anything anyone could want
