please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

I see no-one has updated commentsd on here for a while. Well, all I can say is, you don`t know what you`re missing ! The Bowerham is one of the best pubs in the area - the staff are friendly, the management are lovely & the pub is a great local boozer. Good pint of Guinness and the cask beer is always bob-on. Go on, give it a try ......

As i used to be local customer of the bowerham hotel, in recent months it has gone down hill, for example:
. Bad punctuality of management.
. The pub is scruffy and in need of decoration yet AGAIN.
. Toilets at certain times ive been in have been mucked up.
. States that this is a food pub, yet the kitchen is derelict at the rear of the public house. (No food served at all).
. The cobblestones at the front of the pub are constently covered in fag ends and bits of rubbish.
. Flower beds half dead and need some TLC.
. And as a male i speak on behalf of all men. The toilet decoration is unacceptable, scruffy paint flakes and in need of some TLC.
. And the attitude of the management sticks, lack of motivation and lack of effort been shown when presenting to the customers.

I would also like to state that this has only happen over the past year or so, And it upsets me as a old customer to see such a good local fun filled exciting pub go down the nick like the pubs across the town.
And if Mitchells dont do anything about this they will soon be losing vast amounts of custom. Including myself and many of my friends which use the local pub regular.

this pub has gone down hill since december 3rd.management have not got a clue what they are doing and the state of the pub is appauling only clean first thing in the morning after the cleaner has been in.then after that the place is a shit hole.now it is the bowerham drug den the feeling and atmosphere in there is exstreamly unsettling not welcoming at all.

This pub is great now that the new managers are in. Lots more people go in and the atmosphere is great. One noted difference.. the new managers talk to everyone in the pub not just own click of mates.

I have been going into this pub for several years and quite frankly it is the likes of small minded people leaving comments on this page that ruin what is infact a great pub. Great beer, great food, great atmosphere, great staff. What more could you ask for? With the departure of the current mannager pending I can only hope the new manager will live up to the standards already in place.

Recently reopened following a 5 week re-ferb, not a great deal changed inside.

Improvements include 3 new Samsung screens for the football, new pool table, additional outside seating/smoking area, fireplace, and now seves a standard Mitchell's menu!

Large traditional pub with two pool tables (one in front and one in back room), free Boddingtons table football, live music at weekends, large screen TV showing most Sky/PPV matches, and a bowling green to the rear with outdoor seating by the side.

Fills with locals and the odd group of students nursing half a Heiniken through the week.

The Jennimgs Cumberland and Heiniken are always well kept, and the staff are above average (little fussy when mistakenly given foreign coins - repeatedly!)

What more can i say.. MEET YOU IN THE BOWERHAM AT THREE!
