Bridgend Inn, Govilonback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
This pub is now the Tafarn y Bont (Bridge Inn) and is situated off the main road in the village next to a stream. We sat on the patio at the back, next to the stream. I wasn't expecting much in the ale range and I certainly wasn't expecting a cider. Ales were Sharps Doom Bar, Tudor IPA & Cwm Rhondda Boyo Pale Ale. Just before ordering, I spotted the Bragdy Brodyr's Black Beauty Craft Cider in a box on the bar, only dispensed in half pints. That was one I'd not tried before and it was quite dry, but enjoyed in the sunshine. Another decent pub that was much better than I'd anticipated.

friendly local with a couple of well kept real ales. Food served and a real fire.

Visited this pub whilst travelling on the Monmouth and Brecon Canal. There's a big sign up on the canal side advertising the pub. Only trouble is it says theyre dog friendly when theyre not. You can sit outside on the patio/carpark or be banished to the rather uninspiring back bar. No exceptions, even for well behaved small dogs on leads. Food was OK, if nuked in a microwave and beer was excellent. Lounge bar looked good, only wished we could have sat there.

Cracking little pub, great atmosphere and excellent beer. Sit out by the river when it's sunny or inside by the fire when its cold. Can't comment on the food, we sadly only had time for a couple of beers.
