Fans of random aggression and flat lager will be devestated to note that this hostelry has now closed.

Avoid if you like:

well-kept beer, friendly service, a good atmosphere, good music.
You name it - The Puzzle lacks it.

Avoid unless you want a bit of random, indiscriminate violence and bad lager.

friendly staff, best beer, excellent night out

I wonder if they have ever cleaned their beer lines. Easily the worst pint I have ever had. Utterly gopping. Quite a high moron count amongst the clientele. There are better places than this. Avoid.

Th puzzle was formerly a chemist, the bar next door was queens, the puzzle has the worst beer, the worst chavs and is regularly vandalised-avoid at all costs!

Nice to see so many negative comments about * chavs * I think some of you forget you were young once ... Never go to a pub when you was 21 ?? Anyway , i for one like the puzzle , always a very friendly atmosphere, great door team and bar staff. I am 31 , and i was made very welcome by the so called * chavs * the first time i ever went in there. I am from the palace , and used to drink there when it was the queens. I prefer the way it is now ! So i guess each to their own opinion , i just think that you ought to remember YOU WAS YOUNG TOO !!!

Just been in there for the first time in about 2 years in the hope of getting a quick pint...and now I realise why I don't go. Its chav heaven. Full of them.

The barmen (and I use the term very loosely), were more interested in phoning their mates on their mobiles and finding mobile phone chargers for the tarts next to me.

Stood there for 10mins with a tenner waving in my hand hoping to be served. I guess the fact that I did not offer any charlie to the bar staff and that my tits weren't big enough meant that I was not worthy.

my mate and I decided to cut our losses and head next door to the Black Sheep Bar....a far better establishment where you are not scared of being knifed every couple of mins by some Burberry wearing burger flipper.

In short...AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I'd rather have a high colonic in Tijuana than drink the beer in there again. It was awful!!! The only saving grace it has decent football, but these days you can get that in just about any pub. Avoid. walk down the hill to the railway or the Paxton

alright for football in CP but the beer is dreadful and they dont really bother clearing the empties.Best thing about the place is watching the local youth trying to get past the door staff on a saturday night

Great that it always has the top footie matches on. If you like lager though stick to the bottled stuff, the draught has no head and tastes like gnat's piss.

Been here a couple of times. Easy to find a seat. Prompt and polite service. Can't fault it.

Always showing the footie. Good crowd for the big games.
