Sign outside says "Real Ale Pub" Don't believe it. Only gassed up London Pride on offer. Clueless bar staff. Tried to get a glass of Chardonnay for Shandy Chica (We were on holiday) Barman not sure if that was wine. So I asked for white wine, he poured red... London Pride also a bit off and short measures and not best happy when asked for top up. Total shambles.

I may have seen you last week bil when I was there with my friend for a pint of Bass and they sell London Pride now both keg of course but better than San Miguel which I hate.

The Xmas decorations are already up and the fairy lights are a yearly fixture.
Its weird drinking outside in November but thats Gibraltar for you.

Never tried the food but its always packed with people eating.

Let me know if you want to met up sometime for a pint of Bass...I also go to the Aragon nearby which must be the smallest bar ever its off Main street.

Unlike most Gib. bars this is a genuine English pub.It is a great place to sit outside, watch the world go by and watch the changing of the guard across the road-very British. It is quite surreal to be back in England if you come in from Spain and crossed a few yards of concrete.I didnt have a meal and can give no comment about the food but if you want a drink whilst the women are in Marks and Spencers this is your best bet.

Situated opposite the Convent (the Governors residence) you can watch the changing of the guard or have your photo taken next to th old cannons.

I go there because they Bass beer @240p its 50p cheaper than the stuff they sell at Casements square which is a tourist trap..

Having seen the number of chavs and loudmouths sitting outside... decided to 'pass' on this one. After reading some of the comments - glad I did!

Very much a touristy pub. The food is rather unexceptional but not too badly priced. This being Gibraltar there was absolutely no cask ale on whatsoever - they had San Miguel, Tennents and Heineken on keg. A pint of lager was 2.10.

The outdoor service staff were very helpful to us but that may have been because we were from the UK and were paying in sterling; the Spanish group on the table next to us were told to wait while we were served first. They just got their meal when we finished ours and they came at the same time.

Not the sort of place I would rush back to but it does its job.

Where do I start? Khazi would probably sum this one up. OK -- so it's a high turnover, bang 'em out get 'em in kinda place; but that doesn't excuse the often surly bar staff (not, in truth my experience with the waiting staff)and dreadful, dreadful tap beer (think nuance of Jeyes cleaning fluid). Met with a 'Keep Gib British' sign on entry only to find the Union Flag bunting hung upside down througout -- I certainly sent out an SOS after tasting three different tap pints in here and being admonished by the Salfordite behind the bar for not rattling off my 8 drink order in one go rather than trying to help by conveying it in 2 drink increments. Awful!

A good place for an early evening drink, the day trippers have gone and there is a chance to relax in the middle of town minus the crowds. It is on the tourist trail so service and standards are aimed at this market, ie not great, but the location is unique.

Probably the worst eating experience I have ever known. A party of 8, of which 3 people were served 20 minutes before the rest. After chasing the staff, another 4 meals turned up. Chased the last one, so a half cooked omelette finally arrived. Tried to query the bill and was threatened with a visit from the local police. Nice!!

Ideally placed in an open square on Main St. Popular with tourists and nice to sit outside watching the world go by.

Very nice, very British pub. Tables outside where you can enjoy some thoroughly un-British weather with a pint and some good food.

Opposite the Governor's residence, so, occasionally, and in full military style (ie lots of shouting and stamping), there's a changing of the guard to be seen.
