please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Extremely friendly local pub with lots of friendly locals and Gary and Nat make everyone feel very welcome and at home. Lots of events going on every week. Quiz night etc and friendly village book club meets here once a month. Well worth a trip to see what's going on.

It's changed hands again!

Been taken over by Gary and Natalie who have resided in the village for a few years, they have experience of the licensing trade and it shows,

Gary understands what being a landlord is all about, realises that they don't call it the hospitality trade for nothing, also seems to understand that success is dependant on the 'Guv'nor' getting his back into it and not on lording it over staff that have been ill trained at best, and that punters like to see & hear someone who has a grasp of his job.

Early days, but they seem to be getting the much needed support (by earning it).

I wish them every success.

At last this place has a vibe, and isnt pretending to be a snooty gastro fake!!
Live music, pool table, sky sports, this is what i call a rural pub really pulling their finger out and giving locals a social place to meet.
Otley want a pub, and the new landlord is a breath of fresh air!!

It's changed hands, Linda and Sara have gone and so has the atmosphere they created, open all day, open late at weekends, live music, one armed bandits, pool table, happy hour, no wide screen tv yet (but watch this space?).

Just want to correct my faux pas in my last review, turns out that Sam is in the kitchen the recipient of my thanks for the terrific beer should have been Sara, many apologies Sara.

Happy to report that Lynda, Sam and the Team continue to provide all that the previous reveiwer listed, I visited them last weekend and enjoyed a terrific pint of Woodfordes Wherry (Thanks Sam), also on offer locally brewed Earl Soham Victoria another crackin' pint.
So many beers, so little time!

Just days away from being converted into a house, the White Hart was saved earlier this year by landlady Lynda Saint and a group of locals determined that the village would not lose its only pub.

It re-opened a few months ago and what a terrific success she has made of it.

But it's no suprise - Lynda has a history of this sort of thing. Some years ago she took over the moribund Red Rose in Lindsey near Hadleigh and turned it into a great village pub.

Early evidence is that she is achieveing the same success at Otley.

She manages to create a warm atmosphere that everyone finds welcoming - locals in search of a decent pint, diners, families - the lot.

The menu is straightforward but imaginitive - and the food very good.

The White Hart has a fine selection of proper beers and a decent wine list too.

All reasonably priced - and to be enjoyed in comfortable surroundings.
