Had a makeover recently . Inside and out. Toilets and main bar updated .Good spot on Marina when sun out . Blackrock Restaurant attached now doing some good food ( steaks, grills etc ) and `special` nights. Some real ales on and good selection of bottles . Service friendly and definitely ok to take kids ( plenty of sweet and toy vending machines to keep them busy) . Non intrusive TV for sports and a great random selection of music at varying volumes dependant on crowd. Its still a `town` pub at weekends with a good crowd however fairly relaxed rest of the week . Great to sit outside when sun shines and watch the boats . Deserves to be busier

Okay for a pint but wouldnt advise taking the kids in. Offensive language is the norm. Some of the staff are quite rude but a decent pint makes up for it!

I do go in every now and again and they have Tetleys, Daleside Blonde and Green King IPA on and do keep them pretty well. The Landlord is the only put off.

This was a good pub for a while with at least two Wold Top beers on tap. Went back recently to find that the real ale had gone, as had all the customers. Not worth a visit now.

Still no real ale - pumps turned round, a shame

Visited Saturday 28/01/06 on GBG recommendation. No real ale. Pipes being cleaned out. Food OK. I phoned the pub to check about the food, quoting the Good Beer Guide, but was quite surprised not to be told about there being no beer. Staff friendly enough and apologetic, but no amount of friendly staff can fill a pint glass from an empty cellar!
