Don't do it ... no really, don't do it. So far down the hill it's gone over the edge of the cliff. Bad beer, bad everything.

Not bad for a pub attracting (or appearing to attract) a younger crowd
Not much real ale but both the purity brews were well served

An odd little haunt - has to be the only place I've ever seen that was heaving with Asian Yoot on a week-
day. Intersestng layout, very central. Not what you would consider an Alehouse, mind - the aim is at the young and feckless.

Big place broken into different sections. Dead on a Thursday afternoon in early January but the decor was great. Wooden beams, nooks and crannies to sit in, some sort of an old well is in one part of the pub (covered of course).

Not sure I'd want to go in on a Friday or Saturday evening but Purity brewery's Ubu at 4.5% was good.

i liked the place - divided into different sections, with louder and quiter areas.

can be very crowded on saturday nights though...

thumbs up from me:)

Apart from the whinging/ sour faced staff......... the old beam, black wooden decor is fab, there is a lush choice of beverages (loving the Leffe) which you can enjoy either in the beer garden out back or in the quaint alcoves within the vicinty of this public house. All in all worth a visit at lunch time or on a Thursday/ Friday night.

what has happened use to be one of the places to go now avoid like a plague the place has no atmosphere, the drinks are so expensive , place always seems dirty, toliets stink and are normally broke or badly vandilised, what are they doing serving leffe and hoggaarden do you really think with the current chavy customer base that is appropriate,a change a food menu would help being,ps i may be me but does the older lady behind the bar ever smile and stop moaning how bad her job is ,now only go in at lunch times and soon wont even bother with that, boring bring the old duck back ah yea watch out for the very pervy doormen very slimey and unproffesional

The music and pub itself are fab, although the atmosphere at the weekend leaves alot to be desired, full of townies and the staff turnover is ridiculous, used to be a good team of bar staff but they've all gone and the Manageress isn't the most welcoming of hosts! Although probably still worth a visit even if it's just to check out DJ Kriss...Big Up!

Well, since the massive new extension and refurbishment, nights at the duck just seemed to get better & better, but since the loss of Matti (assistant manager) it's began to all go back down hill, prices have risen, quality of food, beer, punters and barmaids is geeting worse, the manageresses attitude stinks, and it's stolen Walkabouts title 'Fight Club'

It's a good pub, with wicked tunes. Full of good looking, sexy men.

Getting better, and worth a look if in town.

It's a great place to go to catch up with friends during the day - they do some top grub! It's even better at night - always packed! Overall - a top night can be spent here!
