Large pub which seems to aim for families. One real ale on but nothing special. Very quiet.

Was there yesterday, and although there were four hand-pumps, not a single ale was available ..... so I went elsewhere.

A large prominent pub on the far side of the town. A large lounge which is basically L-shaped with a central bar. Although the bar featured 4 handpumps, it only had 1 real ale, the very common Sharp's Doombar. Quality of beer could have been better. Seating is plentiful and generally comfortable. Food is very reasonably priced and of high quality. I had a good homemade chicken and ham pie. Helpings were very generous. A pub for eating rather than drinking.

Doom bar and Hook Norton real ales on offer.

Reasonable pub seems to concentrate of food (could not try any as the pub was hosting the Isle of Man island games team so the kitchen was shut for the week)

Large open plan bar area.

Popped in here as it was close to where we were staying. Food was plentiful and pleasant but not outstanding.

Dartboard and pool table were right next door to each other so you could not play pool if someone was playing darts and vice versa. Pub is situaten next door to a carava site so there was a lot of families in (noisy children etc).

On the plus side the beer was very good and they had Old Hooky and Doombar on.

The inside consists of a large L shaped bar with darts, pool, and a large screen tv at one end and a childrens play area at the other with dining seating in between. The food comes in very large portions and is reasonably priced, and is standard pub fare. There are a couple of real ales on offer. My main disappointment was with the amount of noise in the place. There are about 12 to 16 speakers dotted around the bar with music playing at a level that is just that bit too loud, this would not normally be a problem, but with the kids screaming and running around all through the bar and the television blaring out at the other, the whole ambience is just too chaotic. It is a shame as this pub could be so much nicer with just a few tweaks here and there. Quiz nights Mondays.

I'm surprised this pub hasn't been reviewed for nearly 3 years. Maybe few people make the trip from the seaside. If you've got a family on tow, it's probably worth the effort. The pub is rather large, which means that the presence of kids in one corner does not distract from anybody else's enjoyment of the place. Kids even have their own play area. This is a true community pub that also seems to do good food, provides entertainment and had 2 real ales - Green King Old Speckled Hen and Goddards Scrumdiggity Bitter. It wasn't really my cup of tea, but could probably tick the box for many others.

This is one of the few pubs on the island that has never changed. Great value for money hot well cooked food and the wine chilled try the two steak meals and a bottle of wine for 21 great offer. went twice on this holiday the only draw back is its so popular but if you want good food freshly cooked its worth a vist

Have been surprisingly impressed on my last few visits as I thought it only really catered for families with children. However, have recently had some impressive meals, and a good pint of real ale. The staff service has also been friendly and welcoming.
