What a pathetic excuse for a pub! It's a managed house, so you would imagine that they adopt principles like "Perfect Serve" and "Line Cleaning". I went in around 8:30pm, having just had a nice pint over the road at the Church Inn. I ordered a pint of Thwaites Wainwright. this was served in an Abbott Ale Glass and served in 8 continuos pulls on the hand pump, loads of waste and no settling time. I went to my table, had a sniff of the beer, and all i could smell was egg! You can imagine the taste wasn't much better. On my previous visit I had had a bad pint of Old Speckled Hen, so the writing should have been on the wall, but you always give them a second chance, maybe it was a one off. In the case of this pub, clearly it's not a one off. I immediately called a cab to go to The Ryecroft Arms, which may not be as busy or as trendy, but at least they look after their ales, and you don't need a second mortgage for a pint!
Wouldn't reccomend the Governors to my worst enemy. Shocking beer, shoking prices, shocking pub. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Here is a fantastic, modern yet relaxing pub/restaurant. My patner and I would have the Sunday Carvery there every weekend, as the food they produce is of a high standard. However, the lack of organisation in the kitchen means that they keep running out of half of the food to produce a full meal. ie you could get lucky and have a complete plate of food and then they run out of gravy and your food is kept warm on the plate for 15mins. They run out of beef and when you get beef the are no potatoes etc. The end product is a cold plate of food after 1hr or two. Which I have returned, got my money back and ate elsewhere. This is such a shame because if everything ran smoothly, the food would be excellent. The staff are professional, it's unfortunate that the Chefs can't get organised. The business is loosing out.

Just got back and had a rubbish time! Food was awful so sent it back and received the same food back just warmed up!!! The waitress threw my meal on the table. So I spoke to the manager who refunded my money. I was then asked for ID. Baring in mind this is a pub i frequent on a v regular basis, and informed that there is a 21's policy so once I have finished my drink we all have to leave. This is at not even 8pm in the evening when there are young children running round who clearly are not 21!! All in all have to say always enjoyed going in however this one time has completly ruined my opinion of the place.
