One of those old Irish-themed bars which I think have had their day! This is small with all the usual bric-a-brac you would expect ! What was different was the Ringwood Best Bitter which if a bit metallic was drinkable and a nice find in a town of very few real ale pubs (especially in this part of the shopping centre).

Friendly "irish" pub with decent and cheap ringwoods
Uncle_Dunkel - 21 Oct 2010 16:33
Has now re-opened as of Thursday.

Sadly, Daisy OBriens has now closed. There's a note on the door from the landlord Mike to say, in effect, that it has become a casualty of the credit crunch.

Small, grotty pub with lively regulars. The beer selection is pretty good - a fun place to get tanked, if you don't mind waiting ten minutes for a drink.

Love this place m,any a night have sat in there getting tanked up on the Caffreys.

Closest thing to a real pub in Bournemouth centre and they've gone and filled it with Irish farm equipment.
Although there are an interesting bunch of pictures which include River Gods of Ireland, the Shannon, the liffey and the er ... Atlantic Ocean.
They've got Ringwood Best on tap and we all enjoyed several pints of that.

Strange, small pub. Not a terrible place but not a good one, in my experience either. The beer was expensive and the music unnecessarily loud, so much so that it was distorted. This is not a place I would recommend to friends.

In my opinion this is still one of the best pubs in Bmth if a little overpriced. Friendly atmosphere and Guinness is always spot on! Ringwood Best also available for us real ale drinkers.

gimminkey pretend irish pub and the bar staff cant even pour a guinness....
epping2ongar - 27 Jan 2007 15:26
Lovely little pub with a great atmosphere. The only thing I didn't like was that it gets extremely smoky in there - and I smoke, but I suppose that wont be a problem for much longer (smoking ban). But still a great boozer.

Good atmosphere for a town centre pretend Irish pub.

Schhh this is the hidden emerald of Bournemouth - Love it and everything about it

cool place, wish the fridges could be cooler.
Much better than O'Neils (The Plastic Paddy pub chain from M&B plc)

Great place to have a drink, only complaint is that due to the size it can sometimes get crowded, even so one of the better pubs in Bournemouth.

It's only little but size isn't everything...
Really friendly, cosy place. Mike and Simon, the managers, are sound blokes who will always make you feel welcome. Good Guinness too (obviously!)
livemusicrocks - 27 Sep 2005 17:27
Good atmosphere, great service and the best pint of Guinness in town!

Mike, the landlord has run this pub for about 10 years now.Very small irish themed pub and one of the last drinking places left in the town
ian151265 - 27 Mar 2005 18:12

a must see in bournemouth
fatjim - 10 Jan 2005 11:16
Went here with some university friends. While we thought we would just pop in for a quick pint b4 moving on.....we ended up staying in here for most the night. Lovely pint of Guinness, friendly and attractive barmaids. Even a token weirdo at the bar with a huge mullet! Would recommend this to any serious drinkers but also to anyone who just wants a lively venue.

For a Bournemouth town centre pub, this is by far one of the better ones. Worth popping in for stout or two

the only drinkers pub left in bournemouth!
all types of people, all ages and a great atmosphere-what more could anyone want.

a lovely little pub, friendly and cosy, ideal for a few leisurely drinks with good mates.

I've made many visits to Bournemouth, and this is still the only pub I can find worth visiting! Only complaint is that they don't play enough Irish music! Having been to Dublin several times, this is the most "Irish" pub I've been to over here for quite some time.
gilesd - 8 Mar 2004 16:12
One of the better "irish" pubs.
rebecca - 4 Jan 2004 21:31
I think it is an excellent pub to have a few beers and a laugh in when you don't want too much modern music. Went there for St Paddies day - Had a GREAT TIME.
Kevin - 26 Aug 2003 17:08
Great! i am from Ireland and I must say this place is an excellent Irish Pub! Keep up the good Irish fun!
Bill - 11 Jul 2003 16:08
and they play the pogues a bit too often....
LT - 7 Jul 2003 17:00
An Irish name and Gaelic phrases plastered all over the place does not an Irish pub make
