Nice welcoming pub which served some decent food as well.
Quiet during the week with the occasional bingo/quiz.
Beer was well kept, but unexciting. Plenty for cider buffs though.

We visited last week in celebration of my dads 60th birthday and we were made a real fuss of. The staff were all very polite and smiley. Food was good value, tasty and clearly home cooked. All in all a very good night.

Friendly community pub with three real ales; Hook Norton Lion, Wickwar Cotswold and Sharps Doom Bar on my recent visit. Young bar staff were very polite and friendly providing service with a smile.

Food was very good - if you dine between 6 and 7 you can get the early bird deal of two courses for around a tenner. Surprised to read previous comments about food but they do date from two years back. I appreciate good food and would recommend the meals here.

Pleasant surroundings, good service, barely adequate standard of food.
Chips appeared to be "processed" and greasy. Salad was an insult to the customer. Perhaps a stand-in inexperienced chef was in charge on the day.
Evening 20th August.

Can't fault the pub and it's environs. Good selection of real ales and a nice selction menu wise. But after 3 pints of daffodil a 10oz steak meal and treacle sponge pudding i expect to be bulging especially at these prices. My son had the char grilled lambs liver and the 2/3 miniscule pieces were a nonsense really. over all well presented and cooked but not enough for the price. The service was hit and miss and we waited a long time considering there were very few people about. Another case of get the portions/prices right and you have a little goldmine. not a greed mine

Excellent freshly cooked food, really good choice of four Cask marqued Real ales that change every time one runs out which provides a fantastic variety. Staff very friendly and welcoming and the service is outstanding. Would recommend to anyone.

A real community pub - crib team, darts, quizzes, even a poker evening ! Very involved in village events, but welcoming for visitors too. Three changing real ales. Food is good with interesting vegetarian options - though portions are a bit on the small side - with excellent service. Look out for special food promotions. Also does takeaway fish and chips !
