please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

A cosy, traditional and busy bar at the front with a dining room and pleasant beer garden to the rear. The staff are really welcoming and the food good value, unpretentious pub grub. The Badger ales were on good form, they are far tastier than some on this site would have you believe! Well worth a visit if you are in Blandford.

Sat in the small garden in the sunshine, lunchtime snack was fine as was the beer. Staff were polite and helpful

if you like kids running around in a pub, then this is the place to be,also the landlady is surly and has her own clique, beer is just ok.this should be the best pub as its next to the brewery, but its not.

by far not the worst pub in blandford , food is lovely.
can feel awkward with how regular the regulars are and a little unwelcoming.

Have had a couple of decent pub meals in here lately and the beer was ok ( for Hall and Woodhouse! ). I really don't understand some of the earlier comments as I found the staff friendly and the pub buzzing.

beer poor, food poor, service very poor, well done hall and woodhouse for spoiling another great pub by having tennents that have no concept of running a decent boozer.the post by always nice is obviously someone who works for h&w,just look at there other posts, the only place for a decent pint of badger is at the damory oak.

I had a great lunch in this lovely, friendly pub today. Much as I was sad to see Alan & Alyson leave the new team led by Lance are doing a great job. The steak baguette was cooked to perfection and on such a lovely sunny day their beautifully kept garden was the ideal place to spend a Friday lunch time with friends! Also it was such great value at 2.95 for a baguette that I am sure I will be back again next Friday!!!

Will be a great shame if the landlord & lady do leave they have really turned this pub around! Great Badger again.

Great shame the current landlord and lady are leaving as this is one of the best pubs in Blandford - better than most of the H&W pubs! They will be missed as all is good in this pub, has individuality, great food at good prices, nice drinks and really friendly - hope it lasts, but with H&W at the helm, don't hold out much hope!

A good range of local beers, friendly service and reasonably good food. Quite animal friendly, and accessibility is good for those of us with very short legs

Best traditional pub in Blandford. Good location next to a small green, cosy atmosphere and good ale. The refurb has not changed the character of the place at all.

This very cozy village pub was recently refurbished. They have done a superb job that is so in keeping with the original atmosphere the Landlord (Alan) had to show me the differences I couldn't spot. Friendly warm atmosphere, good food at good prices. Badger Best & Tanglefoot are well kept as is the Hall & Woodhouse seasonal ale. And they still have their dart board! and a lovely beer garden. Thank you for saving this gem of a pub!!

Cozy little place with a nice looking garden round the back. Pity about the beer.
