Generic food pub, looks to appeal to a more mature clientele. But it has ale (inc Leeds Pale) and is close by the station.

This is my local pub, it used to be great, a bit in need of some love but was always clean and had friendly landlords. Great place for socialising and great atmosphere. Now the fox has had a make over so it looks a lot nicer but look more closely and you will see the neglect, one of the toilets has been out of order in the ladies ever since the new landlord start which must be a few years now. The other week I was there and someone had actually written on the mirror in lipstick 'dirty bathroom' I think this says it all.

Yes the pub has good ales and real fires which is always a bonus but it is not comfortable, its has been re-done so all the comfy sofas have been replaced with uncomfortable tables purely for diners. This pub is now aimed at the old and the people who want cheap pub food that is of usual ember inns quality, it is nice but still most likely microwaved, the menu has not changed since the refurb.

All this means is most of the locals have relocated else where to a comfortable welcoming pub that actually has an enjoyable atmosphere and does not turn up the dance music after 10 o'clock (god thats annoying). Not sure about previous comments from other people about the staff not being able to pull a pint of ale but I do know I see the land lord in front of the bar a lot more than he's behind it. At the end of the day if you only come here once in a while you'll find it plesant enough, as a local pub we avoid at all costs.

Following my comments about a year ago the pub has been refurbed & publicans have changed. Great atmosphere, great drinks (even if some of the younger staff can;t pull real ale properly). Loos still ropey.
Overall much improved, typical Ember inn.

Used to be good quality pub, but now seens a little unloved. Dispite going into this pub at least once a week for last years of so, landlord doesn't acknowledge our presence (almost diliberatly ignoring us). Said Landlord has v good name for real ale but staff generally do not know how to pull a pint. Food is of a microwaved 2 for 1 standard, not that of a quality ember inn. Shame, needs injection of time, money & personality.

Always seem to have London Pride or Taylor's Landlord on, so thats cool. Not a bad pub, not really a cool place to hang out or a proper drinking pub. But ok for starting the Horsforth Mile or going for the occasional drink.

Used to be a typical station pub. Now it's pretty modern in a continental style so it was a bit of a surprise not having been there in a couple of years. Good service too. More of a bar than a pub - nice place to take the missus!

Recently refurbished in 2002 this pub kinda reminds me of a Hotel bar. It is all very neat and tidy inside and has lots of odd things such as logs insdie. I think a pint of decent lager in here was about 2.30, fairly dear in these parts! But youve gotta be grateful that they have good European beers in here. The food is pretty good in here though and thats probably the main reason why anyone would come to such a place!
