please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Fortunately real is back, usually a choice of 2 or 3 one of which is normally Adnams Broadside. Big friendly bar away from main restaurant and service generally good (at least you don't have to wait to be served with people ordering food!). Agree it's not the cheap but where is now? Also wines on tap.

Changed name to Miller & Carter. Still a good value steak house but no real ale.

Snagsy has reviewed Barnes Farm 6 times in the last 4 months. He/She likes the place, OK we have got the message. Why don't you try reviewing some of the other pubs you have been to, as this would be of more use/interest to the membership than seeing you constantly "bigging up" the same one pub. This just smacks of a cheap advertising campaign by or on behalf of the management.

Personally, I rate Barnes Farm as a 3/10 as I feel that it is below average in terms of beer choice, beer is very expensive for the area, the restaurant service is shockingly slow, and generally the place has very little to recommend it. How it manages to rate an above average 6.5 is a mystery to me, probably old Snagsy giving it a 10 has distorted the rating, what a pity.

This is without doubt one of the most delightful Pubs/Restaraunt I have ever been to. The outside is very clean there is always plenty of spaces in car park. Although DONT let this put you off by thinking: Empty Car Park, Must Mean Its Not A Very Good Place To Dine, You would be well wrong in thinking that!

On the many times I have visited Barnes Farm in my experience it has been an absolute pleasure. The staff are so polite, you know you are going to get great service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BEING A DISABLED PERSON (WHEELCHAIR USER) ONE GETS USED TO BEING TREATED DIFFERENTLY. I CAN HONESTLY SAY IT IS AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE TO VISIT THIS PUB/RESTAURANT. THE STAFF ARE AMAZINGLY POLITE AND HELPFUL TO EVERYONE.

I HAVE BEEN A WHEELCHAIR USER FOR 20 YEARS, I AM 55 YEARS OF AGE NOW, SO I HAVE EXPERIENCED BOTH WALKS OF LIFE(ABLED & DISABLED)

BEING DISABLED IS NO FUN BELIEVE ME! FOR THE MOST PART US DISABLED PEOPLE ARE CLASSED AS "SECOND CLASS CITIZENS", "NOT AT THIS PUB/RESTAURANT, EVERYONE IS GIVEN THE SAME FIRST CLASS TREATMENT"!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL THE STAFF AT BARNES FARM, I'LL BE VISITING YOU LOTS IN 2009.

CHRIS

As per usual we had a lovely meal here, this is without any shadow of doubt a great pub/restaurant. My partner and I look forward to dining here. You are guaranteed good food, good service, very happy and pleasant staff and a very clean place to dine in.

We Visited this Resturant/Pub again on the 7th December and once again the atmosphere was brilliant. Although I will add the meal I had didnt come up to its usual good standard. Maybe the chef was having an off day! Other than that the mood of the place was great again. All the staff go out of there way to make you feel welcome. On this visit I must add that I noticed how fussy the staff are over the cleanliness of the resturant area. Keep up the excellent work staff.

I would like to add that the food is very reasonably priced, The chef needs to take a little more time in preparing and cooking it. Out of the 5 times I have dined there I have had nicely cooked and prepared meals. Which I must add was Steak with all the trimmings. On my last visit I had Fish & Chips. I found the Fish was reasonable but the batter was very very crispy, over cooked to much.

I would most definitely reccomend this resturant

Keep up your good work staff,

Chris

Outside this Pub/Resturant is very warm and inviteing looking. There are more than ample parking facilites, I would like to add that for disabled parking it is exceptional.

The staff go out of there way t make you welcome and treat you as a valued customer. I myself am disabled(Wheelchair User)and have found that most resturants do not cater for wheelchair users. I know the pitfalls that us wheelchair users have to suffer. At the Barns Farm I am given the same treatment as an able bodied customer, Which I find is fantastic!

I would higly reccomend thiis resturant as all of the staff are most curteous and helpful.

I will most definitely visit this resturant as often as I can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree with the previous poster. We waited almost an hour for our meals on bank holiday Friday lunchtime, and it wasn't as if the place was exactly teeming with people or short on staff. The waitresses are very nice, but the kitchen seems far too slow at turning the food out.

This used to be a good place when it was a Beefeater. Now its been changed into a Miller and Carter, I hate it. I only pop in for a drink with friends now and again but on the times I've eaten there, it was awful. Service is slow, food is nothing special, they get the orders wrong too and it's over-priced for what it is. Staff are friendly, but that doesn't enhance the experience that much I believe. I will never eat there again.
