Very tired looking place now, 2.80 for a pint of very ordinary bitter. Staff friendly and attentive and they seemed to be doing a good food trade.

From the outside this pub looks very inviting. Low roofed black & white exterior with hanging baskets & small beer terrace. Inside low beams in what is basically a single room with a more modern, narrow annex at the back. The large open brick fire is a feature. Quite tatty with some ripped seats & a dirty carpet made the place feel tired. Flowers Original & Tetley Bitter on draught. Popular music venue.

I have been going to the Cross Keys for over twenty years and the beer is always spot on as is the service from Jay, Julia, Sarah, the delectable Nina not forgetting Graham and Andy. Keep it up

Went in yesterday and the landlord seemed a nice freindly chap, reasonable size, the beer good witha fair selection I had Flowers which I don't usualy drink (being a cider man) but at cider being over 2.50 a pint I dropped down to bitter, bar a little on the small size.
I cannot understand being charged 2.60 for a pint of Strongbow when Spoons do Old Rosie and Organic at 1.99 and7.3

As a customer of 10 years, after speaking to the landlord,he would like to know how many pubs mrdruse had visited before his!! He thinks you were slightly confused as to where you were!In the 5 years he has been there the lines have been cleaned every time a barrel is changed. He is a member of Cask Marque, who do spot checks & test every cask ale for taste, appearance, and temperature, which as a "discerning" drinker you should know, and in the ten years we've been drinking in there it has never sold Theakstons or Ruddles(Note spelling!!) It would be nice if you were to add to your entry and say that you were commenting on the wrong pub.I have the suspicion that you were in the Cottage Loaf

I guess a decent pub if you want to be surrounded by tourists and club goers. The real ale selection seemed OK but THE LINES ARE NOT CLEANED REGULARLY. Therefore, the normally relable Theakstons Cold Cask was terrible. I am going to credit the bad lines to the terrible Rhuddles that they served (worst real ale I have ever tasted). After drinking 1/2's those two ale's I knew that my drinking time would be spent better somewhere else.
