Yes it is part of the harvester chain and the food is pretty good value during the '1/3 off' period (before 6.30 on weekdays). The disappointing thing on the beer front is that they don't serve any real ale now. The nearest thing being a keg version of 6X.

No reply to my earlier enquiry and no good reports yet. Still holding off visiting at the mo.

I need to ask carrotmuncher: Is The Harvester at West Swindon not a Harvester then? (not part of the chain?).
I have only heard bad things about this new Harvester since it opened so I will delay visiting at present.

Looking forward to this pub opening as a Harvester during April as there isn't one for over 30 miles! Food and service was already great and makes an excellent pre-match stop off before heading to the County Ground.

Been taken over by one of the other steakhouse type chains and is closed for, what seems to be, a major refit. I hope it is as good when it re-opens.

Somewhere else I haven't "done" for over a year. The dining experience was as pleasant as ever, food was good, portions okay, restaurant staff attentive and polite, it's trying to get a drink before you go in to eat that is sometimes a problem. There are only so many bar staff and if they happen to be pouring a round for the people eating there can be a bit of a wait. Having said that there is always an apology and they are always polite. Pretty good experience if you are eating.

Had sunday dinner in here yesterday. Excellent food, great friendly service, Dry Blackthorn cider, real ales, good quiz machine, decent wine. If you want to go out with the family I can't think of anywhere much better in Swindon!!

It's OK if you're desperate for a beer on the way somewhere decent. Foods good though, very familyish.

Great beer - great staff - well worth a visit if you are ever around here
